Hello everyone,

Can someone tell me how long it takes to recieve packet four after counsulate receive packet3

Sent it through courier in beginning of April then sent an scanned copy also later in first of may.

Surprise to me VFS says that we shouldn't have send the courier ,

Then why does it says on the packet 3 that complete and send it immediately to counsulate ?

All documents have to go through VFS for Mumbai.

Once consulate recieves Packet 3 , Packet 4 is issued very soon almost in the next couple of days.

The best way to know an update is to contact DOS

When I call VFS, they say that the waiting period between packet 3 and packet 4 in 8 to 12 weeks.. can anyone tell me that it really takes that long?

We e-mailed our packet 3 to Mumbai VFS 4 weeks ago and the consulate received 3.5 weeks ago and we have yet to receive packet 4 or an interview date.

Wow we mailed hard copy on 2 nd April and then a month later we emailed them ,,,,,got receipt for both but Dont know when wll recieve packet 4

Btw where is yours Mumbai or Delhi ?

We went through Mumbai and we never received Packets 3 or 4 in the mail. We downloaded packet 3 and attempted to send it electronically but we never received a reply. Eleven days later we sent Packet 3 via courier and the consulate got it the next day. I called the DOS to obtain our interview date as we never received packet 4. Their number is 202-663-1225 and once the recording starts, press "1", then when the next recording starts, press "0". You will get a live person to speak with ~ don't listen to the entire recordings. You may have to call several times before you get your date. As I said, they received our packet 3 on 11/22 and we didn't get our interview date until 12/5 and our interview was a month later on January 5th.

Mumbai Consulate will email the interview letter if you never receive it in the mail but ONLY when your interview date is within 15 days. (see our timeline below)
