Hey guys-

I'm just wondering about the type of people that adjudicate cases and conduct interviews. For those of you that have had contact with them... are they educated? do they have a college degree? are they the type of person that would yell at you for reading a magazine you haven't bought?

Any info is welcome :).

They are likely the same type of person as you and your family. Regular people.

Two of our good friends are adjudicators at VSC. Both have college degrees though it is not a requirement for the position. I do not think either would care if you look at magazines in the store.

Yeah, pretty much. They appear to eat and drink like people. They have a sense of humor even.

Every single person I've met from USCIS, were nice and down to earth, IMHO.

After an interview for my citizenship, the Adjudicator thanked me for my honesty. Apparently folks lie to them a lot. At least that's the impression that I got from him.

My older Brother dated an embassy staff in Nigeria about 30 years ago (before Nigeria became a full fledged bedlam of corruption), she was actually a very nice person.

Thanks for all your feedback. I just wouldn't want them to treat me as if I were in a police interrogation room. The fact that they'll be questioning my marriage is enough. I understand why they do it, I just can't help being defensive about it.
