AP at NVC for K1

Got my NOA2 on Apr12, 2012. NVC still has not sent out case out to the embassy. A week ago NVC told me they had received our case and it would go out the next day. I called today - a week later and they said our case has not been forwarded on and that it was undergoing some additional processing and he could not give me a time frame on when it would be going out. He said I would be receiving more information from them and to call back in another week or so. He would not give me another other information. What does this mean? Will I need to send them something and how long does this typically take?

You don't need to send anything else. You are in AP at NVC. He could not give you further info, because you spoke to someone at the call center, and they don't have any further information than is on the screen in front of him.

We were stuck there back when they started subjecting K1's to this at the NVC stage. It takes less time now, but we were there for nearly 8 weeks. It has come down quite a lot now. I will give you the link to both threads, one is older but has good info, the second is more recent.

ll you can do is keep calling them, and wait it out.

I know it sucks. But having been there, I know there's nothing else you can do. I hope it isn't long, please be sure to post when you are out. It helps other people who may end up there to know how far times are down now.

I sure will. So after reading the other threads on this - my understanding is that it means we are undergoing more background checks? Or is there more to it? And it looks like the time in AP can vary quite a bit. UGH...i thought i learned my lesson in patience with the 5 months it took for the noa2... guess i have a bit more to learn!

I think the worse part is I thought we were almost there - I thought this part was supposed to go quick. I had planned my vacation for June so i could be with my fiance for his interview....not looking good for that. But... Zambeste! (smile) we will get there!

Call them. They said they would let us know, but they never did in the end. We called them every evening for weeks before we were finally cut loose, but it was good to know early. We had everything else ready, I even had the medical and all done while we were in AP. Once they consulate in AKL got the electronic file, they let me make an appointment, so once we reached that point it was only two weeks until I had the Visa.

I was in AP at NVC for 15 days. Just keep calling them. They may or may not send you a letter to let you know your case is complete. Good luck.
