Some IOs are not allowed to approve interviews and have to report to their supervisors before approval is authorized. It depends on the nature of the interview. If your question is regarding interviews that went well and the beneficiaries were told that everything was okay, then the normal time for status change can occur as soon as a few hours later to a few days.

At the end of the interview she said everything looks great and that she will review it again....she placed our file in a drawer with some other files.

I had my interview on March 13 2011 and I am still waiting. I called them and they said that I have to wait 12 more days and If I don't hear anything from them, then I need to call them back and they will tell me them why it's taking more than the processing time. Hang in there my friend

yasjay001 was that 2011 a typo or you have really been waiting over a year...omg I hope we dont have to wait that long.

We decided to try save some cash by not applying for the EAD as I was foolishly advised that is can be a waste of money because the AOS is moving so fast that most people are getting the EAD and then the GC only a few weeks later.

If we are going to wait for that long can we still apply for the EAD after we have had our interview?

EAD is free to apply for if you applied for I-485 and I-130. EAD takes 30 to 90 days to receive, I think it would be wiser to just wait for the decision.

3/23/2012 (Day 0) - I-130, I-485 and I-765 sent
4/02/2012 (Day 11) - Hard Copy of NOA1 in the mail of I-130, I-485 and I-765
4/04/2012 (Day 13) - Received a letter for biometrics appointment for 4/20/2012.
4/20/2012 (Day 29) - Biometrics done
5/03/2012 (Day 42) - Status online changed to interview, scheduled for June 11
5/16/2012 (Day 55) - EAD Card Production, online status update
5/24/2012 (Day 63) - EAD Card in the mail
6/11/2012 (Day 83) - Interview, approved on the spot

05/19/2014 (Day 0) - Mailed I-751

05/27/2014 (Day 8) - Received NOA1

we did not submit the the forms together.. the I-130 was approved since 2010 and then we did the AOS..when i was looking at it it the work permit application was $300+

oh well I guess we are stuck in the waiting game

You misread. The EAD is free when based on a pending I-485. You can apply for EAD now, for free, by including a copy of your I-485 first Notice of Action (notice of Initial review).

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

I am sorry I did a mistake with the date. my interview was March 13 2012. I would advise you to apply for EAD because you never know how long the process is going to take.

I was given the standard notice asking I wait up to 60 day for a decision in the mail. The IO said she would have given us the decision that day but she was backed up. It's really frustrating - my case was a little difficult but clean - and she said she knew who married me so it wouldn't take 60 days to get a decision. Another friend who had interview a week before me is still waiting :(

I know it is more frustrating waiting once the interview is behind you...this person hold the next step of your life in a drawer in their desk. I was told by someone to relax that it had only been 2 days but this person already have the green card and already had that sigh of relief the USCIS is behind them.

Anyway I am trying to be patient and just go with the flow...still not sure what we want to do regarding the EAD so very confused.

Can any of you post the status update on USCIS which says or indicates they're reviewing the case/making decision and not yet approve your case?

Thank you in advance!!!
