Hi all

I have been reading a lot on this site, learning from people's experiences for mine and my wifes upcoming visa process. Thought Id stop being a lurker and give some info.

I am from UK, my wife is a born and raised US citizen.

We met while I was in the US on a temporary working visa in April 2010. We started dating in June 2010 and she moved in with me in August 2010. When my visa expired in Jan 2011 we spent a couple of months apart while we were waiting for the right time to go to Australia on working holiday visas. We were in Australia together from March 2011 to March 2012, getting married in February 2012.

Now I am back in the UK and she is in the US :(

We have decided we want to live in the US together but due to the time it takes she is currently in the process of getting a UK visa so we can be together until a time when we can both move to the US together. Hopefully we'll be back together next month.

2012-02-27 We get married while living together in Australia
2012-03-25 She moves back to US, He moves back to UK
2012-03-26 She applies for UK visa
2012-04-06 UK Visa approved (10 days!)
2012-05-10 She moves to UK

2012-05-10 Sent I-130
2012-05-16 NOA1
2013-01-16 NOA2

2013-01-21 NVC Case received
2013-02-12 NVC number & IIN received
2013-02-13 AOS Invoiced & DS-3032 sent
2013-02-25 DS-3032 accepted
2013-02-26 IV invoiced - AOS & IV Paid
2013-02-29 IV & AOS packages sent
2013-03-01 IV & AOS packages arrived
2013-04-02 Case somplete/Interview Scheduled

Welcome to VJ journey, I am new too and based in the UK... how long where you going to live out here for? From what I have read on here you will have to be here for 6 months before you can DCF at the London Embassy and it might make it difficult for her to have the affidavit of support (if she's not working and doesn't have assets).

05/11/12: Priority date for I-130

Thats right we would have to wait for my wife to be resident here for 6 months before we could DCF. We are going to file at the chicago lockbox as that will probably be the quickest.

We have a co-sponsor and savings so the AOS hopefully will not be a problem.
