how much does it cost?? is it 420 or 380??

If you are planning on sending in JUST the application for the EAD, then I advise you do not. It is a waste of $380. The EAD takes 2-3 months to process and it will expire when his I-94 does, so there is not much chance you will even get to use it. The EAD you receive when filing with the I-485 will be good for a year, which is normally plenty of time to receive the green card and never have to worry about needing to stop working once you begin.

The fees for the EAD and AP are waived when filing with the I-485. You will just need to send one check in the amount of $1070.
