Hi Everyone,

My Fiance filed the petition in January in Vermont and now we are just waiting. Finding it really hard being separated from him, getting a bit depressed at the wait.

Is there anyone from England waiting on the K-1 visa like me that wants to chat or share info?

Or is there anyone that has been through the process and can tell me what happens at the medical and what to expect at the interview?

I desperately want to speed up the process, so I can be with my fiance. I miss him so much.

Feel free to e-mail me if you wish, I'll PM you my address! I can't say I am a particular expert, but we're in the same boat as they say!

Hi guys! I am on the other side now (literally), but it only feels like yesterday when we began the process, and I can remember how frustrating all the waiting felt at times. I am just about to file for AOS, which is Adjustment of Status. Hang in there and try not to focus on your NOA2 too much. Make the most of being in Blighty for the time you have left. Spend more time with friends and family or arrange trips or day outings to places you would like to go before you leave. I learned that refocusing on my life in the moment helped with all the frustrations of waiting -- and believe me I posted about that a few times :-)

I am not an expert, but if I can offere advice or help you in any way please feel free to ask.

I am out in St.Louis Missouri - been here for two months and been married for the same amount of time. You will get there!

Hang in there!

Hi,

I am in the UK and my Fiancé is in Las Vegas. We filed in February hoping to move in December as I want to have a certain amount of money saved up for when I move. Also she Graduates in December. She currently works 25 hours a week whole studying so it wouldn’t be the best thing for her to have me there to.

She was in London last week, and I am going to fly out there in May, June and August with her coming back here in October. There’s no reason why you and your fiancé cannot visit one another during the K1 process.

To speed things up try getting your vaccinations and police report done prior to NA02. Then you will be ready for your medical and interview as soon as you receive NA02 which should be June/July. Unless something comes up there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be moving in September which is 5 months.

It can be brutal at times being away from the one you love. We all know this. But what is 5 months when you have another 50 years+ together. Think positive, in the long run this time apart will make your relationship so strong.

Robert

You are a bit further than us. My Fiance is in England and we can't file the I-129F until mid-may due to my pending divorce. I know that sounds bad, but I have been separated from my previous husband since the beginning of 2010, but couldn't pay for the divorce. I am the USC living in Utah waiting for the second I can file that I-129F. I find it hard my fiance being gone too, but he is coming to visit in August. Then hopefully his interview will be soon after that.

I've had my fair share of waiting too, you're not alone! My divorce came through April 2011 (I'd been seperated since 2009), but I then had to go through a custody battle and ask the court for permission to take my son to America to live. Two days before the court hearing my ex gave his permission. That was at the start of December. My fiance then could file the papers. The waiting will be worth it in the end and I know it's seems like it's going slowly, but the time will fly by. I got myself a job in January and I've been working hard and saving money. Hold in there!!!! :)

Thank you Emma. I stress a bit about this one cause I plan to file the I-129F right after my divorce and my ex was from another country also. We started papers for him, but I had the case terminated after I found out he had another family. Thank you for the encouraging words.
