  1. Hi all, My husband would like me to ask. He failed his interview back in Nov by 1 question. He was told he would be rescheduled, but the case has not been touched. Not even showing he failed the first. Last action shows he was sent the interview letter and that is it. They said within 90 days he would get a new appointment. How can he inquire about his case?
  2. Hi, If I failed the test on Nov 18th when could I expect to be rescheduled? Was told that a new interview date would come, but nothing has been touched on the case. It says Interview Scheduled and has the Nov letter attached.
  3. 🤣 no need to worry about an invasion from him. He already wants to go back, but for now he is stuck here for sure. Sorry his exact answer was freedoms like religion. We are just going to make sure he says them exactly how they are written in the practice test.
  4. I agree. When he told me what he said about the US vs United States I was a little concerned. He didn't mark him wrong on anything about it, but just to call him out on it I felt was rude. I am thinking it was question 58 and he answered it with the religious freedom intent, but said freedoms like religion. We are going to practice exact terminology from the practice test. The lawyer is a good idea since I can't be in there.
  5. Sorry I was using the wrong pronouns. I asked because when he came out he said the officer told him to make another appointment. I was like they will make it right? He wasn't sure. No he didn't. He said it exactly how I wrote it. I will let him know to answer how it is stated in the practice. He was getting 95+ on it. I am thinking it is what Marieke said above. He wasn't answering them how they appear in the practice test. When I helped a friend years ago on this test I definitely was terrible at it. I am much better now. No, I am thinking my husband mispronounced the name of the guy. Like badly. We took a lot of time trying to practice the name and I think because of that he remembered that name and slaughtered it.
  6. Thank you. Yes I will need to figure out which one is ours.
  7. Yeah he took the practice test multiple times and always got 95+% I also practices with him and at most he would only get a couple wrong. I looked at 58. He said Religious Freedom which is an answer. Do you think he wanted more than one answer? Thank you all for helping. Just want to work with him so he is ready next time.
  8. Thank you. I will add that to his test to make sure he names them all next time. He only named one of them, but the guy said name Utah's state Representative he didn't use a plural so I am guessing he thought he could name just one. He didn't apply as a spouse. He applied under the 5 year rule. And the question was not Why did you immigrate. It was why do people immigrate. Feels off to me to have been an answer about himself when it was not spoken that way.
  9. Thank you. I do stress over it. That is just me and who I am. The problem is that some of the questions he was asked were not even on the practice test. I will look at this link and see if they are different. He was asked Why do people immigrate to the US? Like there are a million different answers yet we couldn't find one on line for this one.
  10. My husband failed the civics test. He had to get six out of 10 right. However, most of these questions asked to him were not even in the 2008 practice test. His letter says he can try again. Do we wait for them to assign an interview or do I need to do something to get him a re-take? I am so frustrated. I honestly didn't know he needed to know all this stuff about our own state (my fault I didn't see the test updates section on the USCIS site). He was asked who our state Representative was and he said one of the two so they marked him wrong. The practice test says he only had to name one. I feel like he got a bad guy. He asked him to read something and it said U.S. My husband said United States and the guy was like you know it doesn't say that. It says U.S. He was also asked why do people immigrate to the US? My husband said for freedoms like Religion. That was wrong. If someone could tell me what that answer is supposed to be that would be great because I don't see it anywhere. Feeling so defeated guys. So frustrated. So torn.
  11. Can someone send me a link to which practice test my husband needs to do? He has his citzenship interview on the 18th and I am a little confused on which test to do. We applied this year.
  12. I actually think we will be OK. We will either get the money from the sale of our house or his job will transfer him and he makes about 38,000 pounds a year.
  13. Anyone have a great forum like this about moving to the UK? My husband came to the US as a green card holder in 2014 as my husband. He is now a US/UK passport holder and so is our children. I am an US Passport holder. Looking to see if there is more info than what is on the UK site on guides and forums on how he can apply for me from the US.
  14. I will get the above information and have his start the FOIAs. I don't know the answers as I am a friend of the Uncle. My understanding is he only crossed the one time EWI. Obtained his TPS and stayed until he left. He only left the US the one time. He was not caught and sent back at all. Entered the one time, got his TPS, left without renewing any papers and TPS has since exp from what I understand. He just went back on a plane and never came back to the US. I cannot confirm if he had AP, but his papers have since exp from my understanding.
  15. He left on his own and TPS exp. He came across and applied and was granted TPS. He went on his own a while ago and never renewed any paperwork. No just the one time. I don't have the exact date, but it was about 2000.
  16. Hi all, My friend that is 22 YO USC is the son of an El Salvadoran. His father did reside in the US on TPS until a few years ago he returned to live in El Salvador. The son would like to try and bring him back to the US. Is there any reason why he would not qualify to bring him over on the I-130 for family member? He has no criminal record and crossed and got returned at the border. He has never claimed to be a USC either.
  17. Great. Thank you! We checked a couple of years ago and she doesn't need to file taxes, but we can have her file blank ones as they suggested a couple of years ago for her medical insurance. I will let her daughter know that it may be best to wait a couple of more years.
  18. That is the problem I think. She was going back to spend time with her spouse who was deported back in 2004. I would need to ask her daughter on what evidence she has. I know she has bank, credit cards, cell bill, but she has lived with her daughter and SIL so the house and everything else is in their name.
  19. She receives workers comp from an injury sustained at work many years ago and is considered disabled. She has always maintained a residence with her daughter and her family. That is where she lives. Her SIL is military and was in HI from 2016 - 2018 then they moved to UT from 2018 - 2020 and then have been in AZ since 2020. She has always lived with them and has a local drivers license in each state with their address. Would that not count?
  20. Actually looks like she only stayed just over 160 days on that longest trip. So from what I can see she should qualify based on the last five years. That is as far back as they look correct?
  21. Hi all, I am trying to see if my friends mom is eligible to file her N-400. Below are her dates in the US in the last five years. Here are the rules: An applicant for naturalization is generally required to have been physically present in the United States for at least half the time for which his or her continuous residence is required. Applicants for naturalization under INA 316(a) are required to demonstrate physical presence in the United States for at least 30 months (at least 913 days) before filing the application. [1] However, when taking the eligibility test it said were you gone for more than six months at a time. Which she was, but was in the US at least 913 days. So I am a little confused. Here is her last five years in the states. 9/1/17 – 11/2/17 – 62 Days 4/12/18 - 5/30/18 – 48 Days 10/18/18 – 2/21/19 – 126 days 8/6/19 – 10/2/19 - 57 days 3/10/2020 – 7/7/21 – 484 days 11/16/2021 – 7/19/2022 – 245 days (she's still here and no plans on leaving the country) Total = 1022 days in the past five years.
  22. Yes, he did about five years ago with ROC.
  23. How long after submission should I expect to see my husbands Biometric appointment? I ask because we are moving out of state and now wonder if we should just stay and rent here for a bit or not. Thank you!
  24. Thank you! What if we have move than that in savings? Honestly, we could prolly do this as he could live with his sister until we could apply, but if we can proved stable money prior could we apply without that condition?
