I-134 and Russian Embassy

Hello fellow VJ members,

I am in the processes of starting my K-1 Visa. I have a question regarding co-sponsors. I am currently self-employed. 2011 was my first year filing taxes (I made $19,133 adjusted gross income). The reason I only have 1 year tax history is because I was formally a student. If I understand correctly, if you self employed then they want to see 3 years tax return history. I will only be able to show 1 year history as well as what I have made so far in 2012. FYI I will make about $30,000 in 2010 but I will file a 1099 (self employment).

So if they will not accept me as a sponsor, I understand I can get a co-sponsor. However, I heard that the Russian embassy does not accept co-sponsors. Is this true? If the US consulate does not accept me as a sponsor and the Russian embassy does not accept co-sponsors, I could be in big trouble!! What could I do? Does anyone have any information on this matter?

I greatly appreciate all help!! Thank you!

It's the Manila Embassy that does that. Cosponsor for you is just fine!

You will be perfectly fine with a co-sponsor. Good Luck with your journey!

Are you sure that I would be ok? As I understand, some country's embassies don't allow co-sponsors. Do you know where I could find this information about the Russian embassy?

FYI you will not be dealing with the Russian embassy, you will be dealing with the US embassy in Moscow.

Check here for a lot of information http://moscow.usembassy.gov/ I don't think they will include info about co-sponsors but VJ members are telling correctly. They will consider a co-sponsor.

The US Embassy in Manila does not allow cosponsors for K-1 visa applicants, the US Embassy in Moscow does.
