Well I think the Newark office finally came through. I recieved the e-mail stating that I am now placed on line and I should recieve my interview letter within two weeks.

Congrats to my fellow Newark interviwees, I see that you are scheduled on the same day. Good look to you guys.

Just trying to relax a little bit.... I am more anxious than nervous.... got my interview scheduled for 3:00 pm today in San Antonio and was looking around and thankfully seems the process is very friendly thanks VisaJourney people!!!

I cant believe how time goes so fast... I can still remember myself making K1 visa questions some years ago and now I am almost done with Citizenship

Does anyone knows if Russia has any issues with double citizenship???

Thanks a lot. No I never signed up for email notification, but I checked the status online everyday and the status changed 4 days before the letter was received.

Yes, the status was "in line for interview scheduling" for about 6 weeks, a long wait, but I expected it at this office in Newark NJ: long wait to be scheduled, but usually the oath ceremony is the same day (from what I have seen). So all together it is on par with other places.

Sealedkiss, congratulations! I remember you got the notice about in line to be scheduled like more than a month ago, right?

Oh, I saw your note there, yah from 5/7 OMG such a long wait. Did you receive any email informing they were sending you the interview letter before you got the it?

Check around on this, but this is what I've read:

1.) Show US airline Russian passport so they know you can go there.

2.) On arrival to Russia show Russian passport to be allowed in.

3.) On return to US show airline US passport so they know you can go there.

4.) Show Russian custom control Russian passport (I believe you need a valid Russian passport to exit Russia)

5.) On arrival to the US show US passport to be allowed in.

Maintain you Russian external passport. You must renew it in Russia. Otherwise you'll have to travel as a US citizen and get an entry/exit visa ahead of time from the Russian embassy.

I thought a US citizen had to show their US passport when they left the country?

Most U.S. citizens, including dual nationals, must use a U.S. passport to enter and leave the United States. Dual nationals may also be required by the foreign country to use its passport to enter and leave that country.

I got an e-mail on 6/13 that I was being placed on the interview schedule.

On 6/15 my status @ USCIS had been updated to scheduled for interview and should receive a letter within 2 weeks or call the 1-800 number. as of 6/20 I had not received a letter. but when I checked my case status tonight (6/20) it said scheduled for interview 6/20 and should receive a letter within 2 weeks. I was scratching my head about this and checked 2 hours later and the status had gone back to the 6/15 and should receive a letter in 2 weeks.

What do I make of this shuffling dates for 2 hours? it is like checking airline fares on Kayak.com. Changes every 2 hours.

anybody have a similar experience?

Here's my husband's experience in Philly.

His appointment was for 11:30 and he got there around 11:00. He didn't wait long since there were not many people there. He was asked for his greencard, passport and the interview letter (which the IO kept). The IO went over the N-400 and asked him the yes/no questions. I don't remember the test questions but he got 7/7 and had to write and read a sentence. Then the IO said congratulations and gave him the letter for the oath ceremony.

All in all it was 10 minutes and less stressful than any other part of the process.

I haven't had that happen to me. Not sure what is going on there, the online updates are never reliable. If you have 30 mins spare, call USCIS and tell them you need to speak to an ISO. Explain that your employer needs a lot of notice for you to take time off work and that you need to know when your appointment will be. Once they tell you that just wait for the letter to turn up, at least you will know when it is. It should be in about 10 days, 2 weeks max.
