Hi everybody,

I read a couple of weeks ago, somewhere in VJ, that JFK airport will no longer stamp the temporary work authorization (90 days) AFTER October 1st. Does anybody have an idea about this issue??? is it the case now??

the September 1st/October 1st issue dealt with local offices no longer providing interim EAD's... this is different from the document you receive at JFK. I haven't seen anywhere that JFK has decided to cease providing this doc, however if there is an issue, I am sure someone will come and point it out to me!

My husband (then fiance) came through JFK, 16 months ago today. At that time, he received the temporary work authorization. I have no idea if they are no longer doing this. Good Luck!

I don't know if they are still stamping the temp. EAD in JFK or not, but having it did my husband no good...

it took SO LONG to get his SSN (I think it was over a month) that IF he had been able to get a job quickly he would only have been able to work for a few weeks.

I'd say just be prepared that he won't have work authorization for at least 3 months (plus however long it takes you to get married and submit your AOS/EAD paperwork)

Good luck and enjoy being together!

Jamal came thru JFK back in April...in our case it worked out well...We got a SS within few days and he got a job next month...But I guess each state deals differently with SS issuance...

Im waiting for the bidet update from Shannon.

Yeah Sarah I am sure you are waiting for an update about a bidet, considering you obviously dont have a life and anything better to do. The reason I have not updated is because I AM SPENDING TIME WITH MY HUSBAND. So why dont you try to do the same?
