My fiancee is interviewing for her visa in April and the consulate asked her to bring an I-134. I just started filling out the required lines however, I am currently in school with federal loans. The loans and my bank account (from previous jobs) is enough to support us. Also she plans on finding work as soon as she can here in the US. But how do I show that on the I-134? Do I need bank documents sent? Or should I get a co-sponsor?

Thanks for your help! We really appreciate it.

P.S. She is hoping to study and work at the same time here as well.

i don't think student loans apply as income. They are merely to pay for your tuition. Do you have a job?, how much do you make a year?

You need to make sure you make over $18,000/year for the affidavit. If that's not the case, you will need a co-sponsor. Also, remember that your future wife WILL NOT get a job immediately because you need to apply for a EAD card first.

loans do not apply as income, alas.

So, whilst yer practicing filling out the I-134,

do note -

you'll need to obtain a co-sponser/joint-sponser, and they'll have to fill out a 2nd I-134 to go along with YOURS (since yer the petitioner)

Good Luck !

final note - study the ASSETS rules in the I-864 instructions - GUV IV will use those rules when evaluating yer assets on the I-134.

Yer confusing the I-134 with the I-864. Much.

I don't think the Guanzhou consulate asked for a I-864 (is that what you meant by GUV IV?) I am fairly confident that my fiancee won't end up on the streets with food stamps and welfare but I do have problem proving that. How important does the interviewer/consulate place on this form?

no, I mean GUZ IV uses the guidelines and math IN the I-864 when evaluating the I-134.

So, you should study the I-864 for the guidelines on assets and the math on assets.
