I have seen people on this forum are very active, so please help me out. thanks in advance

Photocopy of the beneficiary's passport biographic data page Do I need to notary the photocopy of the beneficiary's passport data page?

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate <-- Do I need to send original and certified copy both or either of them?

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s and petitioner’s marriage certificate <-- Do I need to send original and certified copy both or either of them?

Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary

Original/certified copy of military record, if applicable <-- Do I need to send original and certified copy both or either of them?

Original/certified copy of divorce decree, death certificate, etc. of previous marriage, if applicable

For any photo copy of the document do I need to notarize it or do something else where it says certified?

The biographic data page of the passport should be notarized.

All other documentation that you have listed above is either original OR certified copy, not both. However, I STRONGLY recommend you send in everything original. I have heard first-hand from many applicants that applied from Pakistan/India which sent certified copies and later received an RFE from NVC asking for originals. This caused unnecessary delays in their application.

Since there is always a risk involved whenever you mail anything "original" it is recommended to always keep at least one certified copy of everything original you send out for your own records.

ya, unsure if James' shortcuts have kept up with the current NVC instructions, which are over at:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

[read all pages, one of the pages covers civil documents for the ds-230]

and Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !
