AOS Interview

We had our AOS interview today the IO gave us a white piece of paper and we are now under review, any thoughts??

We waited for more than 2 hours( went to the reception desk a few times ) and when the IO came to collect us for our interview he made excuses because they totally forgot about us

Interview went good with no issues and simple questions, IO told us our case is under Review and we can expect a letter in 2 weeks, when approved the card will be mailed a few weeks later.

Basically speaking they cannot approve you on the spot they have to send it to a lead officer to review the case and you will hear from them shortly on the final decision.

Op - Same thing happen to my wife in San Francisco. Check USCIS web site tonight or tomorrow and it should show approved or that your card is in production.

Not every cases are same... but good luck to them.

IO told us our case is under Review

It means they are looking over everything one final time. Don't worry. I was told the same. The IO could not grant approval on the spot because she did not have the authority to do so. I was approved the next day. Normally they don't say you'll get a letter in two weeks. My brother in law was told the same thing last week and the letter he got was the "Welcome to America" letter.

I've never heard of a K1 having a second interview when they arrive in the US. Is this something new, or something they do randomly?

Some IOs can't/won't approve on the spot so you are told you are under review. We were and it took about 10 days for approval notice.

Re: K-1s with a second interview - not all K-1s have an AOS interview but many do. No real way to know if you will or not.

It looks to me like a random thing, maybe something in your file triggers it.

I read the post here and in some cases it took 1 day and in other cases it took a few weeks to get approved, stick with the good feeling that you had

I will try, thanks This process has been SUCH a headache for me with so many road blocks, I just tend to "freak out" very easily, lol. Thanks again!
