hello. We plan to file the petition this month. I have a problem with our proof of relationship. We only have like 7 pictures together, we met only once twice (2008 and 2011). We dont have postcards or hard copy mails. We only chat and talk through phone.. But i have western union papers from december 2007 until now.. i have papers every month. Do you think we need more proofs?

I only sent 4 pictures, pictures are secondary evidence. Chat and phone logs are not needed for the I-129F. The I-129F requires proof of having MET within the past two years, proof of ongoing relationship is for the interview phase at the embassy. Proof of meeting in person within the past two years can be passport stamps, receipts, airline tickets and such.

The i-129F petition only requires that you have met within the last two years (provide airplane ticket stubs, hotel receipts, visas, and etc. to support you meet this requirement).

It's the embassy/interview stage that requires proof of an ongoing relationship. Maybe someone who interviewed at the Phillipine embassy can provide further guidance on what is needed/required to show ongoing relationship, since each embassy is different.

Good luck

To file the petition, as it was said before, you need to prove that you've met, at least once, within the last two years.

Yes, for ALL Consulates, the Proof of Ongoing Relationship applies at the Interview stage (some look at that evidence more than others, but they all request it). Some Consulates, also tell you exactly what they want to see... here in Argentina, in the packet 3 instructions, they say: We want to see pictures!!! (on their first sentence)

Like you, I also only met my fiancee in person twice. Once in 2009 and again in 2011. Each time for about 10 days. I think you are fine with the visits you had (like mine). I filed in Oct 2010, so my 2011 visit to her was after I filed so in essence I too only visited once as far as USCIS rules are concerned. Similarly, your 2008 visit was too long ago and does not meet the past two years requirement, but your 2011 visit does and should be enough as long as you have the other hard and primary evidence of stamped passport and airline boarding passes, etc.

I submitted chat longs and e-mails, resturaunte and other purchase receipts and even phone records but I agree with everyone here that has stated that those are secondary and help only if you meet the primary evidience requirements. I also submitted as primary evidence, passport stamped pages, photos of us together in the Philippines and also with me and some of her family members, Airline ticket stubs/boarding passes and itenerary and Hotel receipts and itenerary. Just to add though, at the time I went to see my fiancee the first time, I was a dialysis patient and had 3 treatments there in a hospital in Manila. I had to pay for the treatments myself as my insurance does not cover services outside the country ( Yeah but it was like $100.00 per treatment there versus more like $3,000.00 per treatment here and just about the same quality of equipment and service!!), but I also submitted copies of the hospital orders for each of my treatments and the payment receipts for each along with the blood work printouts and treatment sheets. Personal information but very strong eviddence that I was there as all those documents were on the hospital's stationary all the dates corresponded, etc. Maybe it was a factor. Maybe it didn't help at all, but we got approved so it certainly didn't hurt.

God bless to you both!

hi,

Before you send that picture since u only have few make a copy of each photos she will need it for the interview,if you dont have tons of proof of ongoing relationship for now DONT worry you dont need those to petition her.I would say start sending emails, love letters, cards, chatlogs, skype, etc(and she has to correspond with every letters, chat etc u sent her) the more the better,by the time u get aapproval of your petition she has plenty of proof of bonafide relationship to the consular.good luck
