It is possible. I did so in December. I just made sure that I had a letter from HR with my vacation dates and that I would be returning to work at my permanent job on this day, copies of 6 months worth of pay stubs, and utility bills still in my name with my address. I expected to have a ton of questions, but when asked my purpose for the visit i replied "Visiting my fiance and his family for Christmas" He said and when will you be returning? "January 4th" He said, alright have a nice trip. It's always possible but ultimately up to the boarder agent. Be sure to always purchase cancellation insurance for your flight...

Is ready for this journey to begin!

Ok.

So while on NA01 bring proof that your returning. While on NAO2 bring even more.

We should have NA02 by July. I have visits planned for August and October. I don't plan to move until December.

Nich Nick. Perhaps it has changed since you went through the process.

As long as I am honest and have proof of ties to home I should be ok right?

what sort of thing would I need for proof of employment. what could I get from my company.

Bear in mind I do not wish to tell them that I am leaving at this point.

if you had to say chances out of 100 of not getting let through, bearing in mind I am from the UK, what would you say?

Evidence that you've booked a set period of time off work.

Recent pay slips to show you're employed.

Possibly a contract if you want to go overkill.

If your employer knew the full situation, you could also get a letter stating that you were returning to continue work on a certain date.

Yes.

First Visit (after NOA1, before NOA2):

I brought a copy of our initial I-129f package, and a bank statement with me when I traveled to the States. I was asked for NOTHING. But, better safe than sorry!

I was asked: Business or Pleasure?

My reply: Pure Pleasure!

DONE!

Second Visit (after NOA2, before interview):

I brought the copy of the NOA2 indicating we had been approved. I was asked for NOTHING. But, better safe than sorry!

I was asked: What is the purpose of your visit?

My reply: I am going to visit my fianceé, she's lives there.

DONE!

You're worrying about nothing... seriously!

The advice on the VisaJourney page and immigration.com thread still applies. It is always down to the border official as to whether you'll get in or not. Sometimes you're asked a lot of questions, sometimes you're asked nothing.

As many have said before: be completely honest and always have evidence that you will be returning home (return flight, bank statements, letter from your university or employer, leasing evidence...)

From personal experience, as long as you're upfront and have a return flight home, they won't ask for other proof. Note that it was the case for me. Your situation might be different. I have always traveled with a return flight, a bank statement and a letter from the dean of my university, just in case. They do ask more questions after someone has petitioned for you. Answer truthfully and smile.

If the USA allow citizens from your country to travel for pleasure without a visa, technically there shouldn't be a problem. As other have stated, it is discretionary. With proof and honesty though, you'll find you come a long way.

Best of luck!

I'm so excited but nervous right now! Alan and his boys just left for the airport to visit for Easter. I can't wait to see them but am so worried that they're gonna get a tough officer at Logan. Crossing fingers for a safe flight and smooth time getting into the country!

I have a question to add, I wonder if printed pay stubs would work as evidence? For some reason I stopped getting the standard paystubs through the mail in February and they're slow to fix it, but my work has an area that allows you to print them. Nervous about my own trip even though I haven't had any past issues, but this will be a connecting flight..

Alan and his boys made it through at Boston with no problems! I was freaking cause they took forever. Turns out some luggage was stuck in the conveyor thing and had to be cleared LOL. The officer said three things to him:

"looks like you're on holiday"

"yep"

"when do you leave?"

"april 14"

"have a good trip"

"thanks"

They never even asked for proof he was allowed to bring his boys.

If you are gonna be completely honest, you should not have any problems.

I went to visit my boyfriend 2 times before but I said I was gonna visit a group of friends (since I have been to us before for almost 18 all together)

This is going to be my first "fiancé" visit in June and this time I will be 100% honest and have our noa1 or 2, letter of intent etc ready.

I understand you don't want your company to know, I don't mind either so I guess no employee letter but I think it should be fine. They like people who decided to do it the legal way.

Plus If they ask you: "when is the wedding?" you should say " idk yet, depends on when we get approved."

I read it here multiple times as a friendly advice ;)

Good luck!

I'm so glad this worked out for you. I wish I would've read this sooner so I could've eased your mind as well. My guy is visiting from the UK under the VWP for 87 days, has a pending K1, told customs he came to visit his fiancee and he had NO problems what so ever. Congrats!

I've heard a lot of stories of people getting through with no issues. Glad your guy had no issues either :) It's nerve wracking when you're one of the only ones sitting there waiting after most people have long gone. I was sat there for over an hour and they didn't appear so my mind started to churn. Stupid luggage that was stuck. Apparently a worker had to climb in and un-wedge a suitcase so the rest could come up onto the conveyor belt. I was more concerned because it wasn't just him, it was his two young boys as well. I could only imagine the tantrums that would have happened if they were told they had to be put back on a plane
