Hello all,

I am looking through the K1 visa process and I have a question concerning my I-134 that will be filled out and sent to the beneficiary after receiving the NOA2.

Do I need to apply for a tax transcript from the IRS? I have saved my past three years tax filing information so is it necessary to file for the transcript from the IRS? Do they provide different information than I currently have?

Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

No, just provide copy of return you sent to IRS. W2's are good too.

The tax return is good, also W-2's, letter from the employer, pay stubs.

A reason people suggest tax transcript is because it's typically just 2-3 pages long (I personally prefer it because its clean and comes directly from the IRS), while your tax return could contain everything from the 1040, W2s, 1099, 1098-T, various schedules, and etc. This is ultimately your choice to make.

Do you think because my current Tax records are not as easily observable (W2, 1040 etc.) as the tax transcript for the IRS this increased the processing time and increased chance for denial? Hmmm - might be a hard question to answer.

Has anyone else reading this post sent your own tax records as opposed to the tax transcript from the IRS had any difficulties? If so can you explain the difficulties? Again as always your input is very much appreciated :D

Don't have to but the tax transcripts which are free, are more "official" than the returns copies, and they are free and no charge.
