so, as the title of this post, could anyone of you tell me? what if we don't bring some documents, for example, i'll give you 2 cases, with police certificate (doc) as the problem here:

1. if i don't bring police certificate with me cuz i emailed them 1st asking for information if they would ask for a police certificate from the beneficiary, they answered me on THEIR EMAIL they don't need it...well kinda. so i think, it's not fully my fault?? can i say that? will they ask me for it still? what would happen to my interview? would my visa got rejected (God forbid) or delayed? (God forbid again)

2. if i don't bring police certificate with me cuz i forget to bring it? same qestions, what would happen? would there be a SECOND interview?

just my "think too much"-kind hehe...and honestly i would like to know really...it might happen, u know? I know some1 had her visa delayed cuz she forgot to bring one of documents asked by the CO during the interview :o she cried so much, but then she got the visa after her husband callling the embassy/CO...and of course, after the long explanation process. please share if u know. thanks :)

If your application has any missing doc or they need anything else to complete your case, and if you don't have at the time of interview, then you will be issued 221(g) for the require doc that they want to complete your case.

2nd interview won't be needed if they just need pcc or some common doc.

Visa is only granted once everything is okay ( when your case file is fully completed ).

Correct me if I am wrong: For interview you asked a question to them "If they need police clearance for the BENEFICIARY"? And they said "NO NEED"?

For IR1/CR1, there is something called package 3 or 4, which is basically a document from the local embassy stating what documents the beneficiary must bring on interview. If that lists the police clearance (which I believe it would), and if you have time, I would say go with it. If you don’t have time, take that email conversation with you as a proof why you missed it. Try to avoid "Blame the embassy or DOS or USICS" as much as you can.

For IR1/CR1, they are not going to reject unless they are confirm of a fraud. So yes, if you genuinely miss something, some information, they will ask for 2nd, 3rd and even more interviews. The primary intent of this interview is to find and establish a bonafide relationship. If you are missing a document that may delay the process but that doesn’t mean you may have failed to prove the relationship. However, if one consistently fail to prove the basics of a marriage, that may raise concerns and in the long run can turn out ugly. So prepare as much as you can. You should be very clear on what you (beneficiary) must take for your interview and then comes lots of supplementary docs to prove the relationship (picture, common docs, common financial access, phone/chat log and etc.).

It’s always better to ask beforehand than suffer…. Good that you are asking in advance. Best wishes for you two

When you submit documentation to the NVC with your Package IV (Immigrant Visa Application), then, if something is missing that they need they will send you an RFE (Request for Evidence).

If your case has already been completed at the NVC, and some documents are still missing, then, when you receive your interview appointment letter, it will clearly state which document is missing, which the beneficiary needs to take with them to the interview.

If you fail to bring the required missing documents to the interview, as dictated by the interview appointment letter, you will be issued a 221(g) slip and be asked to submit the missing documentation. Your case will not be complete and you will not be issued a visa until the required documentation has been submitted.

my husband emailed the embassy asking about if they will ask a police certificate from me, and they replied "Police Certificate from Indonesia is not required" that's it. what does that mean? didn't they mean that i don't have to obtain one? i read on the US jakarta embassy they say: "Please note Indonesian Police Certificate is not required" http://jakarta.usembassy.gov/req_docs_iv_interview.html

we still have the email and i printed it too for evidence. but i most likely will get one for me ..

i still have much time :bonk::(

thannks for replies everyone :)

Maryamm, this has been discussed before. For Indonesian, you don't need to get police certificate if you never live abroad. The instructions are clear. If you ever live abroad more than 6 months abroad says Singapore then you need to get police certificate from Singapore. I hope this helps.

I don't suggest you go to the interview with incomplete documents since you confirmed to USEM that you have all necessary documents when requesting for interview slot. USEM will check whether you have all the documents needed before you can start interviewing. The ladies at the counter will be strict and turn you away. I had seen this happen on my interview day.

Good luck!

As said previously if you don't have all the documents required. Your Visa will be denied under Section 221(g). Meaning you would have to lodge those documents too them by email which can therefore hold up getting the visa to you asap.

I had my interview at the US consulate in Sydney and was denied a visa(under section 221(g)) until I email a US Federal Return I have since rectified this by sending them a 2011 US Federal Return of my Petitioning Relative. Now its a waiting game for us. We wanted to be moving over to the USA from Australia at the end of next week. Seems now we wont be over their for several weeks.

If I was you don't go to the interview until you have all the necessary documents required by the Consulate. You certainly don't want to go through what I went through being refused.

regards

Darren

Good luck
