Hello fellow VJs,

I am in a quandary as to the status of the I0129F that I filed last January. When I check USCIS website and enter the Receipt number nothing came up. So I called the USCIS 800 number and the Immigration officer told me that they did receive my I-129F and that their website is slow in update.

My question is: According to the I-797C (Notice of Action) The USCIS received my application on 1/10/2012, its already March 12 I still do not received any notices from USCIS, is this normal?

How long does it take for me to receive any notice of action on my papers that I filed?

BTW my papers is in the Vermont Service center.

A great way to have an ETA on when things could move along, is to create a Timeline here on VJ. After you enter the info requested, you'll get an estimated date on which your petition could be approved.

I suggest you create this TImeline. This way, you'll have a reference for yourself; and it'll help others, help you with your inquiries good.gif

The average processing time frame is 5 - 6.5 month to (I-767) NOA2 Approval letter. Yes USCIS is slow to update the status on their website. Normally they update 7 - 10 days after you received notification letter NOA1.

Also if you wrote a check for the petition fee. Check and see if it was cashed. If you sent a money order, check with the issuer to see if the money order was cashed. That will also let you know they are processing your petition.

God Does for those who do for themselves..!!

The USCIS tool to check status online is very unreliable, so don't count on it. Good news is that they received your case, you received the I-797C (also named on VJ "NOA1" for Notice Of Action #1), bad news is that you still need to wait few more months, but this is normal.

As Celeste & C suggested you, you can create a timeline on VJ. Click here http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=128204 . You will have an estimated timeframe of when you may receive your NOA2 (notice stating your petition was approved) based on other VJ members data.

Oh thanks for the reply. I guess have to wait for at least 4 months for any sign of activity.

Well, look at it this way... at least now, you have an idea of when things could take place.

Now that I see your timeline, it says that it may be adjudicated in May 20122 good.gif anything can happen, though ... it could always be before May 11 & 28th

Try to relax... I know it's hard. It's an every day exercise for me........
