Hello,

Firstly I would like to thank VJ members. You guys have been a very good help indeed. Originally our case was in Chennai, but looks like we are going to Bombay. I needed some opinion/suggestions from VJ members who had their interview in Mumbai.

1) Can you recommend a good hotel which is closer to the US Embassy.

2) Which hospital did you select to do the Medical? I believe there is 2 you can select from.

3) Did you get the Medical Reports the same day or did you had to wait? If so how many days did you wait.

4) Once approved what is the procedure to get a Visa stamped on Passport?

The beneficiary lives in South India, I presume. In that case, you can still get your medicals down either in Chennai or Hyderabad. As for Mumbai, I'm really sorry, someone else will have to help you out with that as I don't have much info in that regard. If you're going to Mumbai, I'd suggest the Lilavati Hospital as I believe that's closer to the consulate. Most likely, you get your medicals on the same day. Once approved, you'll get your passport with the visa stamped anywhere b/w 1 and 3 working days.

1. We stayed at a very nice place called the Keys Nestor Hotel. It's approximately 7.5 kilometers from the consulate in Bandra Kurla Complex. It's also very close to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport. The room was huge and clean and the staff were super nice! In January of this year, we paid Rs 3100, but I believe it may cost Rs 3600 - 4100 now depending on the room and how many nights you stay.

2. He went to Lilavati Hospital for his medical and he said they were really nice.

3. The medical was done in 1 day.

4. If immediately approved with no AP or denial, typically the CO will take the passport, affix the visa stamp inside and mail it to you via Courier (Blue Dart I believe)usually within a a day or two, or if you're lucky you can pick it up at the VFS Office at approximately 5 pm the same day as the interview.

Will recommend for Midland Hotel, and I paid around Rs 3900 INR ( Including all taxes ) for 1 person only. Around 5 km far from US Consulate, Mumbai.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm sure this will help. Another quick question the DS-230 have any of you guys filed it electronically or did you have to mail it to NVC?

Filing forms electronically with the NVC is not available for India cases, you will have to mail the form and accompanying documentation to the NVC.
