OP, you're overthinking the whole process, it really is not that mysterious. Just follow the VJ Guides and the Stickies at the to of this forum and the Example Forms.

You are currently suffering from Paralysis by Analysis.

And why isn't your USC fiancee involved in this?

Hi,

Welcome to Visa Journey! I know this all seems overwhelming, at first. Like you, I had gone to numerous, only to get more and more and more confused. Then I found this one and they break it down to you step by step. I had no clue as to how to begin! I was sure I needed an attorney but my fiance convinced me that we could do it alone.

First thing I did when I came here is read the forums re: K-1 visas and a lot of the questions I had were answered and when I couldn't find a particular answer I posted the question and these folks were swift with the quickness with reliable answers AND support! I read the guidelines and flowchart, gathered the documents needed and when I couldn't stand it anymore and drew on my courage and faith, I sent the packet off, knowing I may done something wrong or forgotten something but I was sure getting an RFE would be further guidance...and it was(although it postponed decision by 2 weeks :bonk: ). We got approved in 33 days and that's WITH an RFE! We didn't get it expedited, neither of us in military...we just followed the guides and advice here.

Our case is atypical, but I bet every dollar I have that if not for Visa Journey and its wonderful members we would not be anywhere near where we are today!

If you can...clear your mind of the gobbily ###### you read elsewhere...take a couple of days to read over the guides here...post questions you will undoubtedly have...then get started on your journey confident that you will soon be with your fiance.

Good luck, God bless and stay positive!

Thanks a lot! Yes I am finally getting somewhere. Almost ready to send my end of the package to my fiancée :) Thanks to the help on here, really helped me a lot, I did it. Amazed at the fast support on here. It's great!

And why isn't your USC fiancee involved in this?

She is. Everyday day after work she dedicated 2/3 hours of her time before bed. Then all day on weekend pretty much. We do it together. Sure Im the one on here but she doesn't have as much time as I do. Shes doing a lot for someone who is busy working everyday. Otherwise I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't feel she was involved. Not to mention she's paying for it all.

She's just as involved as I am so don't worry :)

Let's just say I'm a lot more computer literate than her and I get things done a lot faster. I type faster too. I'd rather just get it done and not waste time you know? While she's at work or whatever that's time wasted. I'm not doIng anything so I might as well do it then. But again. Just because she's not on here doesn't mean shes not doing her part. She's doing the whole printing out proof. Photos. Emails. Chats. Getting birth info. Getting photo taken. Doing the forms. Shes in it all the way :)

For her to come home from work. Come on the forum and do what I did? I can't imagine that. I wouldn't have the brain energy of I had to do this after work (when I was working). The only time id have is weekend time and that's a delay for the whole process.

Control freak huh? Oh oh here's trouble ;)

Agreed. I did 90% of this as well. My fiance tends to get caught up on the small details and can't wrap his head around the big picture. I'm better at researching and putting it all together. When I got stressed he calmed me down.

I'm still doing everything for my AOS too, but that's mostly because I have nothing else to do!

OP - try not to over-complicate this for yourself. I know how overwhelming and stressful this thing was when I started. I just put myself to the task of completing one thing at a time and then moving on to the next step. Follow the guides on VJ - they are your best friend during this process.

Best of luck.

Hi, you do not need to send any documents relating to your change of name to your financee at this stage. You will need it for your interview later. Just include your other name in the correct place on the G325A.

Sorry about this.. sick of asking about my other name all the time but... are you saying I should put None on the Form-I-129F form to Other Names but on the G325A form put my other names in that one? Or both the forms? Confused.

Man this is getting old....If you have ever officially changed names, then you list those on all documents where they ask for it. What is so hard?

Hey I know, I'm sick of asking about this too. I'm one of those people who just wanna know exactly the right thing to do and double check even if it's easy to understand. Well apparently now I know, I put my old names on both forms. Someone else said I don't need to send the change of name. Only need it for the interview. Just double checking ... sorry for being a pest :( I hate for anything to go wrong.

Question guys, just looking ahead of time.. I am curious what exactly this means:

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

By documentary proof, do they mean proof of us having met? That's basically photos and boarding pass etc (which I already have) so then she wouldn't need to?

Basically this means you should make a copy of your I-129F package as per VJ instructions and once you get your NOA2 your fiancee (the USC) needs to send you the copy of the packet along with the ORIGINAL evidence she submitted. This means you need to make copies of all of the things you send in. The actual forms you print out and sign must be originals, but your evidence should be copies. You must send in copies of things like receipts, plane tickets etc. Do not send originals of that kind of thing because you won't get it back.

So in a way, we have to do those forms that we signed again? As in change the date (to current date) print them out, sign them and sent to me? (since the first originals have already been submitted) and I have to do the same forms as well. is that right?

The whole package, as in exactly everything, her birth certificate, another passport style photo (of each), the same forms but with changed date ?

Cause yeah, forms and photo that she's gonna send in the first time for the 129F form will be gone for good. So basically gotta do it over again but this time sent to me. Sounds like fun (sarcastic) :)

You don't do the package again. You make a copy of the whole thing.

From the guide here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

IMPORTANT!

Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes the money orders too. You want to have a perfect replica of the package you are sending in. All Forms that you submit must be originals with original signatures. Supporting Evidence that you submit may be photocopies. Retain ALL original supporting Evidence since the USCIS has the right to check them by issuing an RFE (Request For Evidence). If you receive an RFE, follow the direction exactly, and make two copies of what you sent back. During any future interviews the USCIS may also want to examine the original supporting evidence.

Hey. There's no need for that. Just don't post if all you're gonnna do is show anger and frustration (all your posts so far). Some people take extra time to learn things and like to be extra careful. Chill out :)
