Yup that is what the embassies do, they use the same guideline as for the I-864, makes sense considering that within a few months you will have to meet those requirements anyway.

100% is a fantasy number... not the reality.

Yes you right Hank! The Embassies might Require the I-134, But you better belive they look beyond the I-134 to the I-864. As I posted this same answer to another forum why would a CO in all good intention Approve a Visa at 100% When as you said and another poster that in a few months you would have to AOS? The CO will not approve a Visa at 100% based only on the Petitioner! He/She is looking beyond the I-134 to the I-864. Why would a CO Approve a Visa based on 100% Poverty level and when He/She gets here the petitioner cant get Approved for AOS based on the 125% Poverty guidelines? it makes no sense and you better belive the CO is looking beyond the i-134 TO THE i-864 at the interview!

Why, because the benificiary is a millionare, a doctor, or heck, can show they are able to work at McDonalds and lift the couple to 200% poverty. Not everyone will become a housewife.

It's irrelevant to the government. The beneficiary isn't an LPR or USC and thus can't be held liable for repayment of means-tested benefits should they use them. The petitioner that sponsored the immigrant is the one who is liable. Makes no difference if the beneficiary is a millionaire, celebrity, doctor, whatever.

It Has nothing at all to do with the Benificiary Like Max+Patricia says. It has to do solely with the petitioner. It is Irrevalant to the US Government. They like Max says has nothing to do with the person who receives the immigration benefit. They wont ask the Beneificiary for ANY Financial Documents to prove anything. Its all on the Petitioner to prove Financial Stability. The beneificiary could be a Milllonare but if the petitioners Income level is below the guideline it makes no difference.

Yes, bond is not accepted at 864 stage, but is at 134 portion. You get in on the 134 by posting bond, get married, merge your funds or get a job and jointly file the 864 which includes newly established household income based on the marriage. A sponsor may only want to participate in the 134, but leave the 864 up the the couple (ie, get a job or pull into your own savings). It is much bigger responsibility to cover an 864 sponsorship than a 134.

... some people like to pi$ into the wind and then claim its raining too.

So you read the other thread about the Brazil woman who owns a home and has life-long government pension, enough to support 125%+... You are going to tell her to piss in the wind and she does not qualify? Or recommend she post bond and then combined their income which covers 125%?
