I just called the national cust svc number hoping I'd get some info on when my peitition will be sent to the NVC so I can start tracking it. I was told that it does not go to the NVC that it will be sent directly to the consulate at the country of the beneficiary. Does that make sense? All this time I thought it goes to NVC then to the embassy. I was also told the process could take up to 90 days. I'm thinking the kid was reading off an incorrect script.

How do i find out when my petition was sent to the nvc?

It always goes to NVC, no matter what the notice says. It can take anything from a couple of days to several weeks to be sent there though.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

they told me the same too that the petition was sent raight to the embassy but was not true. It has to go to NVC first. It took a while before Nvc got it. Just be patient and call them everyday untill they tell you they got your case.

Hi guys,

I am having the same situation here. I called NVC and my petition is no there yet. ok it has been just 8 days since we got our approval. BUT there is a paragraph on our NOA2 saying that our petition was forwarded to the consulate. Can I call Montreal and find out or just wait a few more days?

Thanks

As others have said it always goes to NVC, but be patient it takes time for it to get there... don't call everyday in the beginning... no value in annoying.

Check on your embassy case number:

For the NVC:

Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times

K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To

get there:

1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 1 for English

Press 5 for an operator

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:

Website: www.immigrantvisas.state.gov

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )

* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

* If you are an attorney, include your name and the name and address of your law office.

NVC and USCIS are a bunch service center script reading misinformed robot idiots.

Process: USCIS> NVC> Country's US Embassy. That's it.

Your case will does not go from USCIS direct to the embassy. NVC MUST assign a case number first. Then NVC forwards the case to Country's US Embassy.
