Hello VJ members!!

Can anyone please tell me if the Ukrainian Embassy allows a co-sponsor for a K1 visa I-129F on the I-134 form? Also, I own my own home with no mortgage, can I list this as an asset that they will allow, and if they do allow is it at only 1/3 value?

Thanks in advance......

Yes. they support a cosponsor as well as the use of assets to satisfy the requirement. Also, they may potentially accept 100% of the poverty guidelines for K1. Everything I received from my attorney in terms of financial requirements only referenced the 100%. It intrigued me, but apparently it's possible to receive the K1 in Kiev with the 100%. However, you will require the 125% for adjustment of status.

The US consulate in Kiev DOES allow cosponsors. ALL assets are counted at 1/3. To use a home you must submit current appraisals and the current mortgage statement or proof that there is no mortgage. They MAY not accept a primary residence as an asset as it would have to be sold to recoup the money and that would be damaging to the family, such assets can be disqualified. It is their call at the time of the interview.
