Yes I know it means that but what does it mean? What National Visa Center? All I know is Vermont and Vietnam consulate? How do I know when to update that information?

I know your NOA2 says your petition was approved and your case was transferred to the embassy, but before it goes there, it goes through the NVC (they will assign you a case number). You can call the NVC if you want to keep track of your case, but that's optional.
