Injured pigeon

Hi. There is this injured pigeon that comes to our yard and we feed it and have tried to help it but it's useless. One of his little feet looks like it is broken and it limps around. I feel so bad for it. It can still fly but since we feed it, it comes to our porch all the time. Who can I call to come and help it? It hurts to see it limping around like that. I originally thought I could call the animal shelter but I don't know if they rescue pigeons.

i would give the animal shelter a try.... if they don't take them they might be able to point you in the right direction....

I think that is what I will end up doing if there aren't any other options. I just dread the fact that they might end up killing it due to its injury.

Call the Animal Control or Humane Society in your area. I don't know where you live, but here in MD is the governmental Agricultural Center and they would take in a bird in cases like that. Just check around in the phone book.
