I couldn't agree more, those airport farewells get harder every time. If Heather was here and we had another farewell I think I'm at the point of just running through security after her for another HUG. I know it doesn't help much, but every day you're a day closer to being together again, the time when you will be together forever

I had Tom call last night after 11pm and they had no record of it yet. I'm going to wait until Monday before calling again...

Those goodbyes are the absolute worst. I'm usually sad and mopey from the night before too. Last time, I was crying all the way through customs LOL... I'm surprised I've never gotten pulled over.

Gav read somewhere to wait a week, so I started calling exactly 7 days after NOA2 (7 days, not 7 business days). From our experience and someone else's (Joy's perhaps?), it sounds like if they ask for your case number and then ask if you've received your notice of approval, that means they haven't received it -- and their next statement will be "it may take 15 business days for us to receive it." I explained that I was aware of that but also knew sometimes it arrived earlier. And the person on the other end will repeat that it can take 15 business days.

When I called last Friday evening, things were different. After I gave our case number, I was immediately asked for the beneficiary's name and DOB and then for mine. Next they'll verify the phone number they have on file, along with an email address. Once I verified all of that and they asked how they could help today, I asked if the packet had been received and it had :-) Since then, they've been pretty good at telling me how much more additional processing it would need and an approximate day for it to be sent to the embassy in London. As it turns out, I *just* called, and they sent it yesterday. Hooray!

You should go to the DHL thread and see if you can find your (possible) package to track. Our petition (which it must be, being the only package shipped from NVC to Kenya that day) is currently in a plane between London and (presumably) Kenya.

It's so surreal to think that I may actually see Aaron (for the interview) in maybe 2-3 weeks! Being long-distance seems a lot more "normal" somehow right now than being together. It's almost hard to believe there's still a real person at the other end of the phone line.

I agree -- relying on emails, the phone, and Skype is so everyday that I can't believe I actually get to see Gav again soon. We're trying not to go mad in the meantime Hope everything keeps moving right along for you and Aaron (and everyone else)!

I was told that ours shipped on Monday, but it didn't show up as being picked up by DHL until Tuesday afternoon, so yours will probably become visible today sometime. Perhaps being "shipped" by NVC really means that it is in a box waiting for DHL pickup.

I think I may have read somewhere that you should wait two weeks before calling.
