Then when I made the statement that Obama spent a lot of money and you said he did not to me was one of the stupidest posts I ever heard. He has record deficits every single year. To me it has harmed the country and economy. You see it as a good idea.

Why do you insist on making false claims? I don't see racking up deficits and debt as a good idea. What I have said is that the additional public spending has softened the blow the recession would otherwise have had - there is ample evidence of that. Without that spending, millions more would be out of work, the economy would continue to contract rather than expand and as a result, deficits would actually be worse not better. The way out of deficits is economic growth. You don't achieve economic growth by snuffing out demand for goods and services. Austerity measures do just that, however.

You actually think Obama hasn't spent a lot or are saying it in his defense. Obama has had RECORD budget deficits every single year he has been President.

FYI, the budget deficit is driven by two main factors. Spending is only one. And a whole lot of that excessive spending has to do with the two wars that GWB started, at least one of which was started based on his administrations lies/incompetence! The second big factor in deficits is decreased revenue, primarily from Bush's tax cuts and the huge recession he got us into! I am sure you can spin this all to be Obama's fault but anyone who has been paying attention knows better!

A deficit is a deficiency. In order to have a deficit or deficiency you must have a plan. That plan would be called a "budget" and the deficit would be called a budget deficit" Unless you are speaking f a nutrition deficit suddenly in this thread or some other, perhaps a deficit of air on one of your car's tires...who knows really?

It is too bad our news media participate in this kind of 'gotcha' coverage when what they should be doing is holding their feet to the fire for their pandering and 'make-believe' fantasies about having your tax cuts and keeping all your favorite programs too!

FAIR TAX seems a good place to start, no more talk of tax cuts, no more deductions, no more credits, no more politicizng the funding we need for functions we need, nothing for politicians to argue about.

I cannot imaigine anyone of us working andsupporting a family and providing all we need to provide on an income based on the continuous grumblimg and manuevers of some people we do not know and they do not know us. "This month, Gary, you can support your family on $3000" What about mext month? "Can't say yet, all we did was agree for one month but we know that you will have to do all the same work, maybe more" Would YOU live like this?

Budget or no budget, the federal government takes in money and spends money. Every day. When more money is spent than taken in over the course of a fiscal year, you have a deficit. You see, you do not need a budget to have a deficit. If you did, then not passing a budget would be the best thing to do since, according to your line of thinking, no budget = no deficit. Doesn't work that way in the real world, though. Sorry.
