Tax Transcripts

I just attempted to call the IRS number (800) 908-9946, to request copies of my 2010 transcript. After entering my information - the automated lady said they were unable to process my request.

So I completed the process online, on the IRS website- which seemed to work. They said I should expect it 5-10 days.

Is this a reliable service? I didn't get any kind of confirmation number online, and they don't have an option for a confirmation email. I don't want to sit around for the next 2 weeks waiting for it to arrive if it hasn't been sent!

What is your experience of the best way to receive your transcripts?

Thanks

Jo

When I ordered transcripts for the K-1 process, I used the phone number. They showed up in the mail in about a week. When I ordered them for ROC, I used the website. They likewise showed up in about a week.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

I also used the online service. They arrived within 10 days but I agree that you don't get much of a confirmation that the request was properly received.

I used the online service and the documents showed up within 5-7 business days. good.gif

That was my experience also.

I had forgotten that I had ordered them... Initially I was a little startled to get three letters from another huge government bureaucracy in one day!...lol.... I was thinking, now what do they want??...

Good luck.

YMMV.

Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.

We ordered ours on January 9th online AND over the phone (automated system) but never received those copies.

We ordered them again on January 20th but this time we waited to speak to an actual person on the phone and we finally received those copies in the mail today, February 6th :)
