cr-1 P.O.E. SSN???

once my wife arrives in the U.S. I understand they will issue her a 2 year green card and that will be mailed....

what about SSN??? How do I go about getting her that or is it taken care of at P.O.E.

Go to the SSN office about a week or two after entry, get her SSN issued to her

On the I130 app...it asked if you wished for information to be shared with SSA. Did you check yes? If so, it is automatic... then it will arrive in a few weeks after POE. Look here: http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/.

That's not asked on the I-130, it's asked on the DS-230.

OP: The experience of others tells me that it can be hit or miss on whether or not your wife will receive her SSN in the mail or if it will be necessary to go to a Social Security office and take care of it that way. My wife received her SSN in the mail about 1.5 after she arrived but only received her green card two weeks ago.
