Hello everyone:

When I submitted my I-751 application in Nov 2011, I didnt know this forum, so I guess I missed the most important thing in the application package.

I submitted

Joint bank account

Joint health insurance

Joint lease of our rental apt

Joint Utility bills

Letters from 2 of my friends

Tickets of the cruise we went to

Pictures

Phone bills

But, I didn't include my tax return. In 2009 and 2010, we filed as "married filing separately". That's the reason I didn't submit it. Now after reading all the posts here, I become very worried. Does it mean that I will have a RFE for sure?

Thanks for your help!

If you have had your biometrics, then your application has been accepted. It is possible to get an RFE, which is quick to fix, just have the taxes ready in an envelope to mail back if an RFE arrives. Otherwise, make sure that you take EVERYTHING with you to the interview (copies/originals from the submission) and including your taxes.

you should order the tax transcripts now IRS call 1-800-908-9956 free. takes about two weeks. if you get a RFE you have them ready to send. make copies of the tax transcripts you will need them for your citizenship later.

garfield is right. as long as you have your taxes being marry, you have no problem. but for sure, they will ask for more evidence which will be your taxes. just have them ready. makes no difference if both of you file jointly or not. as long as you have it down as being marry for the both of you.
