There is nothing more USCIS can tell you. You are still in their processing time, which is 5 months. Don't imagine it's been 4 months that they are working on your case, there is just a lot of petitions and yours is sitting on one desk. When an adjudicator will work on it, it will take him/her something like 20 min, that's all.

If you signed up for an account on the USCIS website, you CAN see if your case was touched. Just look on the "last update date" column. But a "touch" doesn't mean anything, some case never get touched, some others like 5 times, but it really doesn't mean anything. Please look at this link: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Touches

My conclusion: There is no reason to be angry about USCIS answers… What they tell you is completely legitimate. You can start to be "upset" if there's no decision made after the 5 months mark, but for now, stop calling USCIS, just relax and study the post-NOA2 process. :)

I'm not upset in the sense that they're taking too long to process my petition, I'm frustrated at the fact that they sound like a robot, while all I want to know is if they're working on my case, and what's going on with it and all they can give me is a generic answer, it's as if they just go on uscis.gov and put in your case number and tell you the exact same thing that you could have looked up yourself, wouldn't that be frustrating?

I understand, but wouldn't you like to know where your case is in the process, I'm not complaining about the time, although I would like it to be over with, I'm just curious that's all...

Curiosity killed the cat....

Reality is nothing is happening with your file, its sitting in a box on a shelf until it time for that box to get dragged down, then one after another the files are s-l-o-w-l-y removed and that is when the magic happens.

Again, don't imagine it's been 4 months that they have been working on your case, they can't tell you they are working on it because they are simply not! Your case is just sitting on one shield or desk, waiting 4-5 months alone before someone opens it. As soon as they will be working on your case, you will know it, by either a RFE or an approval.
