That's pretty amazing they gave you a date pre-medical. However.. I can't help but think some of the interviews are pushed back because their scheduling is so nutty -- like folks who MISSED the date because they didn't get the letter. I do hope they iron out the rest of the wrinkles in the process so future people have it easier. I've seen where folks are getting NOA2s in 30-60 days which is flatout amazing to me. Maybe those of us wrapping it up now are the last of the super-long-waiting K1'ers!

We got our NOA2 24 days after our NOA1, which I was not at all expecting! I'm nervous about this interview date/medical date thing, but am yet to receive any instructions from the embassy, so I am just sitting tight at the moment.

I wouldn't take my experience as the norm. There are two factors to this, in my mind:

1) I put my date of departure as being the 22nd Dec for a 29th Dec wedding which possibly made them go "We need an interview for this guy, now!" - If the interview's on the 10th, and assuming approval it'll take a max of 10 working days which would actually put me at Christmas Eve.

2) As Bridget's said, there's a complete clusterfrak with interview scheduling at the moment with some people not getting their letters until after their interviews. This might well work both ways and we know the embassy can be quick with interviews when they need to be.

One thing's for sure, I'm going to want to be checking my CEAC status to see when the date changes again to indicate when the medical's logged.

Hi!

My fiancée (US citizen) received the NOA2 to her New York address on 31st October and I am still waiting for the London Embassy to contact me. Perhaps they have a bit of a back-log?

Anyway, this check-list is very useful for what you should be thinking about now:

Thanks stevensane, that's great! I am traveling to London over Thanksgiving and am going to bring my fiance the affidavit material I have: I-134, letter from employer, pay stubs, tax transcript, letter from bank...am I missing anything? Maybe if I wish hard enough our file will be flying across the ocean at the same time as me...

Got NOA2 recently so I'm going to give this a read through I expected to have to wait ages to get to this stage but our petition was approved shockingly fast so we better start getting prepared xD

Beware otter-- the forms and payment system and courier and contacting the embassy have ALL changed so I can't see a lot useful to you but questions about the affidavit of support, medical exam, what to wear, experiences in line or inside. .

Otter you gotr approved in CA like a rocket! However, you are now likely to wait 40+ days for number assignment at NVC. Good luck!

Yeah it was so fast! We just happened to check our number and it said approved and we couldn't believe it! Then came the email xD. And yeah I'm actually kind of glad about that so we can prepare everything in time

Thank you for letting me know! I did read about the form changing, isn't it just one form now?

Also this is what I have so far for addafit of support form/documents from my fiancé's parents:

-addafit of support form

-a certificate showing when the buisness was registered (his mom and dad have their own businesses)

-2012 tax return

-his moms birth certificate copy (as she is the one who signed the form ^^ don't I need this to prove her US citizenship? She doesn't have a passport though.)

-She's going to go to the bank to get a statement about their personal and buisness account

Is there anything else we need? I've seen tax transcripts been mentioned, will the tax return work instead? Is there anything different we need to do because it's their own buisiness?

And so is the next thing still the same as well? That we can contact the NVC and get our number or? Or have things changed?

K1 Visa arrived! Interview was Wednesday 11/13. Visa arrived to house via DX Courier on Tuesday 11/19. 6 days total! Thank you again for all your guys' help.

Now that we are in the U.S., we are unfamiliar with the next steps are in the process to register our marriage, adjust my UK fiancees status, work permit, etc.

Can somebody direct us as to what we need to do next?
