London 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

Having read Sulphs London review, it seems like spouses can no longer attend interviews with their partners? I wonder if I should call before my fiance books his flight this week. If he cant come with me, no point in him coming over 2 weeks early and we can save some money.

You're supposed get his name on the list and maybe get an email verifying. However, I (USC) just handed my US passport to the guard at the front of the line and said I'm an American, may I go in the embassy with my fiance. He let me even though no prior arrangements had been made.

I know there have been days when some important government official has been at the embassy and they tighten security for the day and limited extra people going in. Maybe it was one of those one-off days or a buzz or whatever they call call it when they hear of suspicious terrorist activity. What is that word I'm trying to think of??

Do you mean heightened alert or a credible threat?

Do you mean heightened alert or a credible threat?

Chatter. That's it. How they monitor communication and internet activity and intercept communications between suspected terrorists or spies....which results in heightened alert.

Hello :) We're kinda wondering/worried about something...we decided to try for the memorandum of convictions, rather than the subject access, for Dave's "no live trace" on the police certificate (its the document listed on the dept of state's listed of needed documents for the interview). We've hit a snag b/c the court that Dave went to doesn't exist anymore (it was a looooong time ago that he'd gotten into trouble, 30 years-ish). So he's written to the central courts, but they need specific information about the date and whether it was magistrate, county court. He doesn't remember and sent a note back, saying it could be within a couple of years (like 1982 or '83). Do you have any suggestions? I'm sorry I'm a lil rambly...just worried and we're really trying to have everything set to go when we need it. :P

Thanks so much :)

i think you need to get a subject access and take it from there as that should say what the "no live trace" is about and it should give you a date too. it can take up to 40 days to obtain but it seems that having applied for a police certificate can speed that up a lot... mine arrived after about 14 days.

He should be able to get that from the same agency he sent for the police certificate, shouldn't he?

Hey :) Dave's heard from the embassy and he's filling out the forms. We just have a few more questions...every time we think we're set, we find more! lol

Ok...for the DS-156K, for question #5, does he need to send a birth certificate for his daughter, who is not coming or following? Also, does he need to send all of the documents listed below that question (his birth certificate, evidence of support, etc)? I thought he brought those things with him to the interview?

Thank you! :)

I thought I understood that he sent the packet 3 forms (DS-230I, DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-2001) to the embassy when he's completed them...then, later, he sends the DS-2001 when he has his medical and all the other documents, evidence that is required. Is that the right process? Thank you so much for your help...it is soooo comforting to know I can come here for answers. I've looked this part up and think I'm understanding it... just want to be sure. :)

You are right as corrected above. I think it was a typo and you meant DS157. He can send the Readiness DS2001 and cover letter with a medical date even if he hasn't attended the exam yet, as long as he has all his interview documents in hand.

What does one wear to the interview itself? My fiance is coming with me. Is it smart office dress or more of a casual affair? Typical woman, wondering what to wear
