Sooooo expensive! At $100 she could buy a brand new printer and print all the chat logs and photos herself D:

But I'm guessing that you paid that much for the peace of mind which I understand completely.

LOL I know! I scolded my fiance. He should have picked the 4-5 days option which only costs about $65. That's a lot of money just for the I-134, letter of intent and cert of employment plus a handful of cards that we sent each other over the course of our relationship. oh well!

Wow, I can't believe some of the people here trying to pinch penny's when it comes to getting the important documents that will determine if you are able to get married to the person who needs them. I used fedex to get my documents to the Philippines , an it was delivered when they promised, USPS to Philpost? ? They lose more or steal more than they deliver , DHL? Limited delivery options . Soooo, Fiances beware of the petitioner who is pinching penny's to get your documents to you , if you ARE able to get married to them, think how your life is going to be in the future , living with a tight wad who don't think how important it is to send your documents to you that you really need

And I flew to manila , to personally take my documents to my fiancé , that's how important she is to me, I used fedex to send supplement documents afterwards, I'm not rich , just maybe middle class in my income , but I will take no chances on what is important to me , and she is the most important of anything in my life

I have no desire to start a flame, but...... Why didn't you fly the supplemental docs also? Maybe you had ulterior motives for making the first trip yourself?

There's quite a difference for seeking advice what reputable carrier (DHL, FEDEX, UPS, USPS(???)) has the best service to the PI and a $1000 RT ticket.

I don't think members have issues saving $5,10,20 versus which can you best trust and the timeliness of their service.

Why would you respond to a thread that is eight months old? :bonk:

And I flew to manila , to personally take my documents to my fiancé , that's how important she is to me, I used fedex to send supplement documents afterwards, I'm not rich , just maybe middle class in my income , but I will take no chances on what is important to me , and she is the most important of anything in my life

And for gods sake why would you fly documents to your fiancé. Of course you can use "she is the most important of anything in my life". That's just plane stupidity. I'm sorry. Sometimes I just don't like to sugar coat what is obvious to the rest of us as insane. :wow:

Now, if you were traveling already, yeah I can understand you taking your documents with you... that's what I did. But I DID NOT travel for the sake of delivering documents safely. I went because I wanted to be with her during her interview and to lend support and to help with the document gathering.

Here is my experience. I sent a letter to the Philippines via USPS and it cost $15. I watched the tracking and it took about 2 weeks to get to Manila. After that it got lost in the Philippines postal service and it finally got to its destination (a couple hours from Manila) over 2 month later. I sent something else via Fedex for $60 and it arrived within 2 days. if you have a lot of time and want to save some money (and want to gamble that your mail wont get lost) use USPS. If it is something important that needs to get there quickly use Fedex (or UPS or DHL).

PhilPost ... never delivers... come rain, sleet, hail or dark of night... they always fail. Using USPS is one of the worse ideas.

As for delivering the required documents in person... I did that, but then I was going that way already being I was attending the interview with my wife, then we were spending a couple months relaxing and visiting family.

Hi,just want to asked if,how many days till i recieved my email from USA to the Philippines? Is it safe to email check?my fiancee send me check by mailing thru fed ex..

You may want to start a new thread.  This one is 3 years old.  If he used FedEx he should be able to track it.  I really recommend using a company like Remitly to send money.  It is instant and has reasonable exchange rates and fees.  DO NOT send a check or cash through PhilPost.  They will take it or hold it hostage for a "delivery fee".

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Sent you a check by mail?  Have fun cashing that .. expect a 30 day delay from the bank.

Like John said REMITLY is a solid choice for sending money.
