I am trying to keep track of all the dates, but now that it has left the NVC how will I know when it is received at the embassy in Bogota? Is there a number I call or do I expect an email or text?

You can call the Department of State Visa Services hotline at (202) 663-1225. Have the NVC case number handy when you call. They'll be able to tell you when the consulate has received the file and logged it into their system.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

You should also be able to contact the embassy/consulate in bogota with your case number and they should be able to tell you if they have the visa packet of information. this is what I did, however, for a filipina immigrating from Hong Kong. Once you have verfieid that the US embassy/consulate has received your gal's visa packet you can then ask them what is going to happen next and what you can do to help.

http://www.dhl-usa.com/en/express/tracking.html Try with tracking number 7574943003. It may be your file! Search in the Google bar above for how to track from NVC to embassy with DHL, to understand how I did. :) Edited by didopage

stefan,..... I was there, a few weeks ago, where you are, in the process.

Approval text received from Vermont on Dec 30.

On about Jan 20, I called the NVC, at the urging of some of our VJ'ers.... and the very kind lady there told me, they had either received or sent our case on, to Bogota on Jan 12. (couldn't remember which she said: received, or sent. was a bit excited!)

On Jan 19th,... la fiance received the Letter in Email from the Embassy in Bogota, with the Instructions to take her/us the rest of the way.

Hope this helps!

12/30/2011...........LA VISA APROVADOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

01/12/2012...........Case Sent To Bogota Colombia, from the National Visa Center.

02/09/2012...........Schedule Interview.

03/23/2012...........Interview (to take place then)!

Hi Gringo D, I also have an approved petition for my fiance in Colombia. You said she received an eMail from the Embassy in Bogota, but where did you provide her eMail address on the petition paperwork? I never noticed a place for her eMail address, although they know her mailing address. Thanks!!

Thanks Gringo--always helps to follow your lead. I will wait until Friday to start freaking out. ;-)

John & Clau: When I called the NVC to check the status there, they got email addresses for both myself and my fiance. I assume that is how they are going to contact her.
