Hi!

My name is Natalie and I'm international F-1 student. I entered USA in August 2011 and had full-time classes in a college for Fall semester 2011.

I got marriage in January 2012 and now I'm waiting for my marriage certificate to complete all support documents for Forms I-130 and I-485.

I know that I can stay inside the country for 60 days after I finished my education.

But if my certificate won't be ready and I can't to send my documents till this date will I be out of status?

Should I inform the immigration office somehow about my marriage and

all the situation?

Please help me to make it legal and to avoid any problems in the future. Or just tell me who can give me this information.

I appreciate any help!

Thank you very much!

Clarify your post please. It's contradictory. You got married in Feb 2012? We are still in Jan!

You DROPPED out of school, not "FINISHED" so there is no 2-months grace period for you. You don't enroll, School will report to DHS about your status. So you have to file AOS now and you will be authorized to stay while processing. Your time frame is too short for marriage + drop out school = red flags, be ready for a tough interview. Good luck.

Your DSO is wrong, you are supposed to be IN SCHOOL this semester at any school. You don't enroll that means you are reported for not maintaining your status. Out of status is usually forgiven when you get married to US citizen, but your situation is difficult because you arrive to the US too short before your marriage, plus you drop out right after your marriage. These circumstance will raise a lot of red flags when you have the interview. This semester just starts, so you can enroll to second-start classes to maintain your status, to play safe way. Otherwise it is your choice.

So you entered just before school started, and got married right after the semester ended? Did you actually complete a course of study? The other posters are right, this could raise some red flags, but we don't really have all the information. Be prepared for some hard questions, and have some good proof of bona fide marriage. File ASAP.

IMHO, I believe she just finished on full-time semester only then she dropped it this semester same time as the wedding.
