Error on Permanent Resident Card

My husband and I went to his AOS interview on January 3, 2012. Everything went very smoothly with the interview, and he was approved in minutes. He said that the post office would mail it, but it had to be signed for and if we weren't home we would have to go to the post office to pick it up. The next few days I kept getting text messages and emails stating out case has been updated, which seemed to be normal, but on January 13 I received an email that said "On January 13, 2012, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent." We got that too late in the day to call about it, so I was going to call on the 14th. I got home from work that day and checked the mail and my husband's Permanent Resident card was in the mailbox. We were excited, but when we opened it states he was a resident since: 1/03/2011 and the card expires 1/03/13. Which it should read that he has been a resident since 2012 and the card expires 2014! I could only wish he was a resident since 2011 :P Anyway, I tried to call the number on the paper that came with the card, but didn't get anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You send it in with an I-90 (no fee) to get it corrected. Then once you get the NOA1 make an infopass to get a GC stamp in his passport. The replacement GC has been known to take 6 months or so

These people are making so many mistakes. I wonder if it is a silent strike? It seems strange for so many mistakes to be occurring. Wow! Time for a salary increase I guess.

Yeah, it just seems like that is a really dumb error to me. And I really don't understand the email saying the post office had sent it back as undeliverable and we got it the next day. We were hoping to not have to deal with this for two years, but it seems like its never ending.

So you got the welcome letter (approval notice) AND the GC? Because those were two separate mailings when I AOS'd.

No, he never received a welcome letter. The Green card came with a pamphlet with information that said Welcome to the United States, that was all. I'm not sure if that is the same.

That's the welcome letter

No it's not. The "welcome letter" looks like this: http://ladysun1969.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/noa_welcome.jpg

The GC comes like this: http://www.canamenterprises.com/pdfs/green-card-with-mailer-1.pdf

No, he never received a welcome letter. The Green card came with a pamphlet with information that said Welcome to the United States, that was all. I'm not sure if that is the same.

No it's not the same. See above. You didn't receive the welcome notice. I would call USCIS and let them know you received the GC but the welcome notice was erroneously returned to sender by USPS.
