I was hoping this would be about the storm of crime and degenerates that have swept across Alaska over the past 10 years. Since 1990, Alaska has had one of the highest increases in violent crime rates, especially against women.

Actually Charles, there is a developing situation that is having a severe impact on polar bears. The area, and especially waters around Hudson Bay have been significantly warmer the last couple of years. The impact is that the water does not freeze as far otu as it did even 2 decades ago, so food supplies are drying up because the seals just swim further out. As a grizzly consequence, many starving polar bears have resorted to eating their young, or parents in desperation.

Several animals can and do prey on humans. To reassure readers and promote conservation efforts, it is frequently stated that these animals only prey on humans when they are hungry and there is nothing else available, but this isn't always the case. Animals that have been reported to attack and/or prey on humans for food include three of the four big cats (lion, tiger, and leopard; jaguars are not known to eat people, but will attack them if disturbed), the American Black Bear, the polar bear (world's largest land predator), wolves (especially the Grey Wolf), jackals, large crocodiles and alligators (especially the Saltwater and Nile Crocodile), large sharks (especially the Great White Shark, tiger shark, and bull shark), and the Komodo dragon. link

i'll side with humanity on this one.

Mountain lions attack joggers around here for no reason other than they are jogging and fun to chase. Raccoons have been known to ambush people carrying bags of groceries at any time of day. It is not safe out there, even in suburbia.

I live in suburbia and the only wildlife that poses any kind of threat to humanity are the deer that don't know how to get the fukc out of the way when a car is coming.

Thems is stupid animals. I had one running along side my truck. I slowed down and moved over to give him room, but he still turned and ran into my truck. One of them jumped off the bank on the roadside, landing on the hood of my buddy's truck, and smashing the windshield. Total case of hit and run, as the deer didn't stay around to exchange insurance information.
