How to change last name on SS card

Hello all.

We have received EAD last week. My wife already has SS card which last name is in maiden name.

Now she would like to change her last name to married last name on SSN.

What documents are needed to make this change? Married certificate and EAD? is EAD needed to make name change? We are currently married and k1 visa has expired pending GC.

I would take her EAD and her passport (ID). Take marriage cert just to be safe as well :)

You need all three- EAD, passport and marriage certificate to show name change.

02/02/2009 - Received in mail 3 pcs of NOA1 one each for I-485, I-130, I-765 dated 01/28/2009
02/03/2009 - Received email RFE. What did I not send now, whew!
02/09/2009 - Received mails for initial evidence and Biometric appointment (02/19/2009); mailed evidence

Hello all.

We have received EAD last week. My wife already has SS card which last name is in maiden name.

Only ONE form of ID (passport, EAD, greencard) and proof of name change (marriage certificate), it's that simple.

just wanted to follow up with this question.

She was able to get her last name changed with marriage certificate,passport and EAD. SSN took her old SS card and issued her new SS card with new last name.
