Hi Guys

Just a quick one, does anyone know when should we start collecting all the stuff required for package 3? I mean here mainly things like: police cert and I134 notarized.

If I get a police cert now and it is valid for a year , would that be sufficient or do they have some sort of a time period when I should get it before the interview?

When it comes to a letter from my fiance's employer and having I 134 notarized, can it be done earlier or should we wait for the letter from the embassy first?

Cheers

With Police Certificate you can get it now. Though make sure that it is actually valid for 12 month and not 6 month for some countries it is valid only for 6.

As far as I-134. It doesn't need to be notorized. Also you don't want to make it to early as things do change. It is better prepare closer to the interview. I did mine a month before the interview.

I'm not to sure if a Police Cert is good for 6 months or 1 year.

You have just Filed and have a long ways to go. Keep chat logs (proof of relationship)

The 134 is not needed to be Notorized.

The interview would prefer the latest documents and not old details.

What slowed us up at the Embassy stage was the medical and you cannot get that until you have a letter allowing you to get the medical. The interview date for us was 10 days from receive of e-mail from Almaty Embassy. Medical results took a week and the wife needed time to get there as it was way on the other side of the city. So by the time she had her medical the results would be ready the following Wednesday. Interview wasw on Tuesday, so we rescheduled. The police report did not take much time. I would wait until the notice that the petition was approved and then go for the police report and to get the employment letter and the I-134. That way it is only a few weeks old assuming the interview date is close to when the Embassy receives the packet from NVC. There are some places where the interview date takes forever so I'd check with thoese that have gone thru the same Embassy to see what the wait is and then plan accordingly. No sense in doing things twice. You are not going to save that much time in the end.

Good luck,

Dave

I actually need two police certs since I moved to Ireland 8 years ago. I have the one from Poland dated 2006 but I moved to Ireland in 2004 and never been living in Poland since then. Do you think I need to get a new one from Poland? Or would that be sufficient as long as my Irish police cert is up to date?

Doesn't I 134 need to notorized? Doesn't it say at the bottom it has to be signed in front of a witness?

I did my employer letter during July and obtained the IRS transcripts to send with the 134. Didn't need to notarize it. Did new Letter of Intent, printed out three recent pay summaries and sent all in August in anticipation of a September interview. We had to reschedule that interview and got a November time-frame. I didn't resend anything except new pay summaries and all was accepted just fine.

I-134: the Polish version of the instructions requires it notarized; the English version does not. We did notarize to avoid delays and problems, the date was about 3 months before actual interview. ABout same time, a couple from Ukraine (might be the one in the reply), reported they didn't and had no problem.

I had the letter from employer and bank statements about 2-3 months before interview. They don't seem to be too picky in Warsaw. We also had newer copies (more current dates) of the 'Intent to marry' letters in which we re-iterated the intent. Had additional pictures as we had met again after filing. You could download forms if you wish, but they are relatively simple and using the info form the original petition we had them in 2-3 days (with back and forth with e-mail and a couple of calls.
