As its the holidays, our NOA2 was approved on 28th Dec, but have not received it in the mail, what does it contain? A copy of our docs have been sent to NVC then I take it? I know the NOA2 states what our next steps are, but as I don't have it in my grubby hands yet, what he heck is in it? Can we do anything in the mean time? As post office is closed on Monday, I hope it arrives on tues for sure.

mine said nothing

but do not lose it cause it will cost like 400 to replace it and you need it after you marry

All you need to do is call nvc everyday to get your case number but it is taking a few weeks to get a case number right now for spouses. Then call NVC everyday to find out when it left for the embassy. and you should get an email telling u when your interview is.

God Luck and have a great year

The NOA-2 is a Notice of Action telling you your petition is approved, its just a a single page similar to the NOA-1. Next step is getting ready for your interview and medical exam. You need certain documents for everything you will do from now on. Its best to read the K-1 guide, its better than letting someone tell you, they might forget something. Congratulations and good luck.

Ron the infamous NOA 2 is on its way.It contains your Approval notice and what date the petition is good from what date to what date.example(Jan 1st to may1st) for 4 months. it also contains your WAC number if from CSC or EAC number if from VSC. you have to wait for that to come. When i got my notice back in May, NVC was backlogged and it took them a month for NVC to receive my case and input my case into their System. Now, they back on track from what i hear, its much Quicker. once you get the NOA2 wait a few days then start calling NVC to see if they received it yet. the number is 603-334-0700. if after a couple of weeks they tell you they still doesnt have it they will ask you to scan it and Email it to them at"NVCInQuiry@State.Gov", but wait until they tell you to scan it and send it. once they input it in their System you will transition from the WAC or EAC number to your MNL Case number from that point on. you only go by that case number once it leave NVC. Buddy you on your way!! NOA2 is on the way!!! Also like MikelanNida says.....be sure to read the guides!!

That's good to know that the VSC working during the holidays. I thought they'd be inactive from Dec. 23rd to Jan. 3rd. :P

Haha, that's what I had thought too, but sure enough it was approved that date, and some others as well were according to the timeline.

Good luck with calling the nvc. We were approved on December 9th, got letter on the 27th and my fiance got packet 3 on the 28th. Nvc still says they never received petition.  :wow:

What really sucks is Diana was a RN at a hospital in Egypt last year for over 6 months, so she has to get a police record clearance. She's gone the the Egyptian consulate to request such, but they need a letter from the US Embassy saying its needed by them for Visa processing, and the US Embassy in Manila won't issue the letter till they get the MNL case number, which is what we are waiting for now.

The main this is it will delay this process, and with all the turmoil in Cairo lord knows how long a request like this will take.

Ugh.

Congratulations Ron & Diana on your NOA2...I remember when you first started....that doesn't seem like all that long ago. Glad you didn't hire that attorney and you used VJ. All the best to you and Diana this New Year. God bless you both and good luck with everything, xoxo.
