Don't bother applying for the travel permission (I-131) - you can't travel until you have your GC or you will be banned from the US for the overstay. Otherwise, should be straightforward. Good luck!

AOS for my husband

ROC:

You need to file all of the forms in that guide, read them all, the instructions, everything three times over. Study it. Then ask questions on what is not clear to you. There are a lot of forms.

You will need to enclose one check for $1,490 in your AoS package, plus . . . you'll have to pay for the medical from an approved civil surgeon, which costs anywhere between $150 and $450, so shop around.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Bruno regarding the money aspect of the process, the total fee for your AOS package (I-130,I-485,I-765) will be 1490 dollars

P.S. Ops,I just saw that you already got an answer for that

Please read the instructions. It says in the form instructions both the price and who to make it out to. There is a lot of information there you need to know. If you don't know it, you will fail.
