Can We Expect Faster Processing Times with Post-IMBRA Forms

Ok, debut post for me.

I've heard a theory floated that we can expect faster processing times if we submitted using the new, post-IMBRA forms. And I've seen a few people on this list receiving NOA2s out of California in two months or less. I'm an impatient man. I think we all are on this forum. Anything to this theory of faster processing times on the horizon?

Also, the website reports they've recieve my app, and they've already cashed my check, but still no paper NOA1 after almost two weeks from the date the website reports receipt. No big deal, right?

Thanks,

J

Welcome to VJ.

The CSC seems to be processing a 'bit' faster, but I wouldn't count on it.

As far as your wait for your NOA1, you're still in the 'average' category. Not to worry.

Also meant to add that no one can predict whether or not someone will get one or more RFEs. Those just add time to the process.

And pre-IMBRAers are still figured into the averages, so comparing against timelines here is really useless now.

What website reports they've recieved your app? I am confused, I did not think you could check the USCIS site until after you recieved your NOA1 with a reciept number, or at least until the check was cashed and you could view the number on the back of the canceled check.

Yeah, got receipt number off of the check and then created USCIS account. I'm assuming the paper NOA1 just says the same thing as the current status message on the website:

Your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received on September 14, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

It did think it odd and potentially hopeful that the status date now reads 9/17/2006. I think that counts as a touch. Maybe they're actually having a look at what I sent them.

I know touches are misleading and even mysterious at times, but if you look at my signature line and compare the touches (or updates) they seem to be related to the cashing of the check and/or generating the NOA1. It's been dead silent since the last touch.

Yeah, you're right. It's probably them just cashing the check.

I'm new here, and I know this must be an often expressed sentiment on this forum, but does everyone else out there agree that it's absolutely ridiculous that this process should take so freakin' long? I'm mean, what do they have to do to process these things that could take that long? It's not like there's that much in the app. If it's an issue of funding, then charge me a fee to expedite.
