By M+S in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

Well I am about to apply for AOS and my question is do I have to apply for EAD since I will not work till i recieve my GC ..I am now studying..

so if i didn't apply for EAD and I get my PR card is that makes me legal to work without EAD CARD??? :help:

AOS JOURNEY:

2007- April -25: AOS SENT AND FILED

2007- April -27:AOS package delivered

2007- May -05: NOA1 recieved in Mail

2007- May -23: Biometrics Appointment @ 9 Am

2007- May -15: RFE recieved

2007- June-05:RFE paper sent

2007- June-08: RFE recieved

2007- August- 08 : Interview at 10 A.M

2007- october- 04 :Card production ordered

2007-october- 05: Welcome letter recieved in mail

2007-october-11 : Approval notice sent

Correct. If you have a PR card you do not need an EAD card for work.

2005

Sept 10 I-129F sent to TSC

2006

Interview - February 13th APPROVED! day 152

April 6 - wedding date day 204

Aug 22 - AOS interview date day 101-total days 342

Sept 29 - green card arrives, done until June 2008 day 140-total days 381

2008

June 30 - I-751 mailed total days 1025

2009

March 9 - Removal of Conditions approved! total days 1277

Depending on your location you may also have trouble getting a drivers license as they will accept the 1 year EAD for your drivers license ... The I-94 expires after 90 days of you entering the US so your drivers license would also expire on that day ... The EAD would allow you to have your drivers license for a year even if you don't have your green card yet ... Also for the drivers license you would probably also require the SSN ....

K-3 I-94s are probably not the same as K-1s.

A K-3 is valid for 2 years and is allowed multiple entries. What *does* that first I-94 say?

That said, can you get a driver's license without a SS# these days? In Oregon you can, but we're doing Real ID yet like most states.
