File k1 or wait after I return from trip

ive been gathering documents and saving money for k1 journey. IM planning my 3rd visit in Feb 2012. Im nervous that if i submit my k1 and then travel for 2 weeks to visit my fiance i may miss a document from immigration. or should i just wait and submit it after i return ? that will be trip number 3 to visit fiance. just weighing in my options.

First couple weeks after you file are normally very quiet - unless your check is wrong and then they return the whole package.

In fact I would say its fairly quiet the first few MONTHS!!

I would file ASAP. The wait is long, lonely and horrible so get it over as quick as you can by starting the clock NOW. You can bring up the details of your additional visit when your spouse goes in for the interview. Now if you are unsure if you really want to get married or if you are worried that you might be moving too fast, that is a different story and you may want to wait.

I concur with the others - file now. Odds are that you receive your NOA1, and then everything's quiet for some months. Sign up for checking your status online, that way you can at least try to check it overseas or get an email notification(sometimes you don't get one even if you include the G-1145).

That way you can at least enjoy your visit and happily be waiting together for a little part of the journey
