Cheers, pal. I know what you mean; honesty's always the best policy, but at what cost? From what I understand - and what everybody most about would attest to here - the police certs are a joke since the consulate conduct admin. processing anyway regardless of all that. Even though they don't maintain records here, I reckon since you've already mentioned the name of the cities they'll require you to get the certs. However police certs are valid for a year (I know, they do say only six months on the cert itself, but they last a year as the consulate told me).

To help you with the example she'd only need ONE cert for Pindi for the entirety of her stay(s). If she lived there for six months plus in 2000, then lived there again for six months plus in 2003... only one cert from Pindi police station would be required to cover all that period. I stress this point again; if you know anyone who can help you out at the local bodies/government/bureaucrat level, it'd be a huge assist with all this process. We all know how difficult it is to get something done when it involves one body of the government or another, so with someone helping you this can make the journey a lot easier. Best of luck, pal... hang in there!

i had the same issues as i was studying in swat for more than 2 years and and tired very hard to obtain police certificate from them but they never give me they told me that the only one who can issue me a police certificate is the district of my birth ,so i never got one from swat and never send to the embassy although it says in my form that i spend 2 years in 2002 in swat but the embassy never ask me to poduce a police cert from swat it may be because the situation in swat are not good i dont know

Gil1234,

Congratulations on getting your visa and for taking the time to comfort others who are still in AP.

Eabbas,

I know it's hard trying to be strong everyday. It is a heartbreaking process but you have made it this far. You can't give up now. Remember to take it one day at a time. I know lately I've been feeling very stressed and overwhelmed too but I know I am not alone. I have support from VJ friends and it really helps me. We are all here for you.

I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it. - Maya Angelou. This quote has often been a life saver.

Just a suggestion EAbbas; you think there maybe anyway possible for you to visit Pakistan sometime and find some much needed reprieve with your hubby? There's almost always turmoil at a political level here, but if you keep it discreet (and ask him to follow suit) I see no reason why it cannot be done. Though I do understand this requires a lot of money.

Right now I wish most of all I could but I work as a temp right now and the financial institute I work for is going thru a merger which would give me full time employment I don't have the time off to take a trip now cos I get no paid leave and I can't risk leaving for two weeks an not having a job when I return

Believe me I've cries rivers over this and my husband says that not everybody can just leave for weeks it would be about 4k in total for tickets and making sure I had money for the weeks I'm off

He tells me to be patient our time will come but it makes me wish I had two weeks paid vacation but until this merger happens I'm still just a to with no paid days off :(

It is a drag no doubt... the amount of money alone can be difficult to come up with. Well, here's to hoping the merger goes alright and you are made permanent. I can understand how that'd send one worry down the drain! You'll be fine, EAbbas and Inshallah things'll work out for the better.
