In hindsight....it probably would have been far quicker to have just sent another copy of the marriage certificate, rather than having had a supervisor review our case. They tell you that supervisor reviews can take up to 21 days - and they did just that for our case. We called again on the final day of their 21days and still nothing had been done - until my husband managed to get a hold of a very nice supervisor who promised to take care of our case personally. Now whether or not she really did I dont know for sure - but within 24hrs we had our SIF and CC.

My recommendation is - if you have another copy - send it rather than ask for a supervisor to review.

FWIW, the '21 days' answer is bullsh|t.

It can be done same day, actually - depending on exactly how you craft your verbal request.

You got a response of '21 days' simply because that particular supervisor thought to use that in a sentence, no other reason.

Casefiles are easy to retrieve, easy to review, easy to 'eyeball review' - you have to, absolutely, craft the proper verbal language to 'get it done'.

Please understand, I would never minimalize your experience. It's important to post it here - but I'll tell ya - you got hosed.

i did not know it will take this much time. i requested a supervisor review.

Any way any problem with asking supervisor review? what will be the usual outcome of supervisor review?

uhm, i think the wording is wrong. you should ask a supervisor to request another review of these two documents, not asking for 'supervisor review'.

i would be scared to send in my only other original copy...i only have 2, and one of them would have been submitted and "lost" already...who's to say it won't happen again?
