I visit Cambodia on march and came back on April. I had my engagement over there as well. I am a us born citizen and would love to bring my wife down. I been working with a lawyer in Cambodia but i don't meet the income requirement since am still a student. Hench, why i took another look at k1 visa. I plan to file the pension for the visa and hoping i get approve. I 6month late because my lawyer plainly sucks. So i have to take care of it myself to save me and my parents some money. I printed out all the paper works in the guide as follow. And plan to send it off by this Friday. I like to go over one thing before i leave. I have a Cambodian address's but not sure how to correctly write it out. Mainly the mailing address is confusing me. Also, would i get approve even when i have no income what-so-ever. Can i add my parents income instead of myself. My parents back me up 100% so they agree to any step i take. Anyone experience with Cambodia and would like to guide me through the step i would gladly accept you. thanks for reading my long post.

I'm on the same boat as you about the income as well, I'm a US student in Thailand finishing up my Masters. What they pointed me out was to make sure that your country would take Co-Sponsors for the k-1 visa. If they do not, then you might have to get married there and file a CR1. Hope the best for you.

Are you engaged or married? you talk about engagement but then call her your WIFE? You cannot file a K-1 if she is your wife. A K-1 is only for fiance(e) not spouse. You have to file a CR-1 if you are married.

sorry for the slip of words :P Am currently engaged under cambodia laws. Have the paper work for it as well. But can't be to sure if the paper are legit since i heard alot about it. But am drawing up the paper works right now. I have everything ready but hope you guys tag along with me till the end. What i learn from now will be put to later use for anyone else in the same hole as me :D but will never trust another lawyer ever again. Took all my money and don't even know how to start with the first step. I know am a sucker for ever paying it in the first place.

For a family of 2 you would need to make approx $1900 per month, or 125% fed poverty guidelines for 2012, based on your household size.
