First of all, there is no reason to wait three weeks to go to the Social Security office--you can go any time if you like. In our case, we went after about two weeks--not because we hadn't received the card yet, but because we wanted it to be issued in my wife's married name rather than getting it in her maiden name and then having to change it. We took all the documents required on the SS website on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the card arrived in the mail the following Monday-- one full business day later.

Wow! Just received both my welcome notice and Social Security card in the mail - just 8 days after POE. I wasn't expecting anything that quickly - I guess I'll have to start looking for a job now! lol

01/27/2011 - Trevor's N400 submitted
02/18/2011 - Married
04/02/2011 - NOA1 hard copy received - priority date 03/30/2011
07/08/2011 - Trevor is now a USC - called USCIS to request upgrade of the petition.
08/02/2011 - NOA2
09/08/2011 - LND case number received, medical booked
09/26/2011 - Case complete at NVC
09/30/2011 - Interview date assigned
11/08/2011 - Interview - approved!!
11/10/2011 - Visa in hand
12/04/2011 - POE in Atlanta
12/12/2011 - SSN number received in mail
12/12/2011 - Welcome notice received
01/06/2012 - Green card received
09/06/2013 - File for Removal of Conditions

My hubby entered on december 4th and as of today we are still waiting for his green card. I am starting to wonder what could possibly be taking so long to get ours. I see a bunch of others who entered before and after us that all have received theirs. Any insight??

It's been over a month now since your husband's arrival, so if I were you I would be picking up the phone and start calling USCIS, asap.

I got my Green Card in the mail about 2 weeks after arriving but I never got a SSN. After 3 weeks I went to the SS office and filled out a form and got my card about a week later.
